RC Car Action announced the winners of their yearly awards and right on the top was the Traxxas Slash! The way this truck hit the market and the following it produced left little doubt but now it is in the books! Around the country and world the Slash has developed a new breed of racers thanks to it’s low cost and out of the box performance. The fact that it has brought so many new faces into the world of RC is great! Every time we are at the track, there are new people there with their Slash’s having a great time. We don’t always agree with RCCA, but once in a while they get it right.
Congrats to Traxxas!

Here is an interesting release, Team Associated and LRP have just announced a new RC Drift Motor and Speed Control! The motor comes in brushed or brushless form called the LRP Ultimo Drifto Type 1 or 2.
The LRP Ultimo Drift Speed control can handle NiMH or LiPos automatically, has special drift throttle and brake profiles including a handbrake effect, internal temp check system, and can handle sensored and sensorless motors. Due to be released in June. I wonder if there is a Team Associated Drift Car sitting somewhere the world does not know about yet. Someone get me some insider info!

With the Micro RC Helicopter craze still going strong Revell has just announced a few new realistic heli’s. The Revell Fire Strike Pro Apache and Blackhawk RTF Heli’s! They come with 3-channel digital proportional controls, up/down, left/right, forward/reverse, and are ready to fly right out of the box. One of the cool things about the Revell’s are their realistic look. They are not just the ‘generic’ bodies you normally see, but these look like scaled down heli’s. Pretty cool stuff. You always wanted that toy to fly.. now it can! Hmm.. where did my army men go?

It’s been a while since we have seen a vehicle release from DuraTrax, so this is a welcomed press release. The Duratrax Vendetta Rally Car is 1/18th scale and RTR. Some of the highlights, 2.4GHz radio system! It’s compatible with many of the already existing Vendetta hop-ups, oil filled shocks and diffs, 380 motor.
I have always been a big fan of Duratrax’s 1/18th scale stuff, and I’m sure this will be no exception.
