ASK Cubby, Version- You Like Outback, I Like Fogo de Chão

“Kyosho Mad force Kruiser 2.0 VE
Hi,
I saw some information about this truck on BigSquid- Was wondering if you knew where they can be bought. I’ve only found one site and its overseas and will cost almost 200.00 USD to ship to me. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
Paul R.”

Cubby- Yo hey Paul, as always, thanks for taking the time to shoot us an email, hit us up with your snail mail addy for your free sticker pack.

So… where is a good place to buy the Kyosho Mad Force Kruiser 2.0 VE? You didn’t specify the brushless or the nitro version, nonetheless, if I were you I would try This Link. Yup, that is a link to Tower Hobbies. There was a stretch when Tower didn’t carry Kyosho product, but that ended last year and now days you can get a very wide variety of big K gear from them.

And no need to thank me, you’re welcome.

“Cubby,
Hello from Australia. How is your intern Adam, Wrench, and the other guys in the bash crew?
I am torn between the ESS One sound module or buying a Traxxas truck with their on board audio. What’s your call between the two?

Barry C.”

Cubby- Well g’day there Barry, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to your fine country. Just FYI, the mainstream “Outback Steakhouse” here in America used to be a decent place to eat, unfortunately they have totally Americanized it the last few years, making it totally worthless. Maybe at some point someone can start up another chain of Aussie restaurants that don’t suck.

How is Adam The Intern? He’s still a nut of course. He’s building all sorts or wacky creations, still using Palmolive dish soap for shock oil, and chasing girls like crazy. Wrench is still doing what he does best- spinning wrenching keeping all our cars running. The rest of the crew is busier than ever. I crack the whip on them constantly to keep busting out reviews, posting more news, working on more projects, etc.

Oh ya, to your question…

We have not gotten a chance to play with the new on-board audio from Traxxas, so I have no clue if it is worth owning or not. As far as the ESS-One system goes, we are big fans. It sounds awesome, it comes with a bunch of different engine sounds, and works really well in relation to your throttle/brake inputs. It does have a couple of downsides- it is fairly large and it isn’t quite loud enough. Oh ya, we feel is a bit on the expensive side too.

On board sound modules are super hot right now, so ya, pull the trigger on the ESS-One. However, also check out the unit that TheToyz is now stocking, and there are a bunch more on the way as we speak. From what I’ve seen/heard, expect at least a half dozen more options to pop up in this product segment in the next 6 months or so.

Toodle-oo, thanks for the email, and shoot us another email letting us know what you ended up buying.

Hey, get those letters in because next week I’ll be picking a “Letter of the Month” winner.
