Beware Of Counterfeit Castle Creations 8th Scale Motors
Everyone has seen a fake Rolex. They look close to the real deal on the outside but are a mess on the inside. Our rc hobby is not immune to counterfeits as seen by the emergence of Counterfeit Castle Creations Brushless Motors being sold on various websites. These knock-off motors look close (but are not exactly the same) as a real Castle motor and are being shipped into our country from overseas. Just like a fake Rolex, the performance and durability of a knock-off motor will not be on par with the real deal, and of course there will be no way to get one fixed when it breaks.
The crew at Castle Creations have issued an official statement on the subject which you can check out below. Just remember that if you see a deal that is “too good to be true” from a company you’ve never heard of before, then it is probably a counterfeit. If you want legit Castle power and longevity, you’ll have to buy one from a trusted authorized dealer, not some unknown source out of Asia.
“Castle Creations is issuing a customer alert to purchasers of our motors, particularly via Internet sales. We have confirmed that counterfeit Castle motors are being illegally imported from the People’s Republic of China, and further investigation is underway.
These sales are a fraudulent use of our branding and the motors bear many of the marks and trade dress of current Castle motors making them very hard to distinguish externally from authentic Castle products.
If you are purchasing ‘NEW’ products online, please check the source. If you come across an online deal that you think may be “too good to be true”, it is quite possibly a counterfeit.
Email the link to us at email@example.com and we will get back to you after reviewing. Counterfeit motors are not eligible for warranty service at Castle, so please be sure to purchase authentic Castle motors from an authorized Castle reseller.”
