Scammed: Don’t trust anybody you meet on the internet. This is why I never trade over the net and always get used stuff only through eBay with PayPal, there’s at least some buyer protection built in there if the seller doesn’t ship or the product doesn’t show up as advertised.

Event: This weekend is one of the bigger RC Drag Racing events at the Lynwood RC Dragway! I’ll be there on Sunday to cover some of the racing action. If you want to see some of the fastest cars in the world lay it down… make sure to stop by!
Event 2: In just a few weeks the Traxxas Torc Series will be in Joliet Il. If you want to see some good paint rubbing (not just left steering) action, this is good stuff! A bunch of the Big Squid RC will be in attendance checking out the action, and maybe doing a little racing of our own on the Traxxas Track! Check it out August 25th and 26th!

Question of the Week: Are lipo’s doomed to ultimately ruin the RC industry? – Can’t say I disagree with some of his points, even if the whole thing is a little too dramatic. I wouldn’t mind seeing 3S (9.9v) LiFe’s becoming the industry standard for entry level, much like 7.2v NiCads and NiMHs were back in the day. They’d be a good combination of high power and safe technology that most newbs want and need. That won’t happen until the cost comes way down though.

The picture is from Nic Case, the guy who owns the worlds fastest RC record, and this is his latest project car for 2010. He’s working directly with the Team Associated designers this time around. He will be testing this new streamliner on August 15th at the Heartland Park Dragway. It’s powered by a 1521 Neu motor, and 12 cell Power Edge Lipo battery.
