Duratrax Onyx 110 ReviewMany bashers are on a budget, while others aren’t looking for the best money can buy, they just want products that are easy to use. The Onyx 110 battery charger from Duratrax is aimed right at these types of hobbyists. It comes with an ultra-low price point, $24, and could not be easier to use. We’ve been using one for a couple of months now and this is what we have learned-

* Seriously, the Onyx is incredibly easy to use. Flip the switch to the amp rate you want then plug your pack in, it is that easy.

* The 110 is very light and has a small footprint, it takes up almost no space in your pit box.

* If you have LiPo batteries (or plan on getting some), the 110 probably isn’t for you as it only charges NiCd and NiMH type batteries.

* We used the 110 on a wide variety of packs. From small 5 cell receiver packs, to 7 cell 5000mAh primary packs, the 110 always seemed to give a solid charge.

* Many lower-end chargers like to “false peak” all the time. That was not the case with the 110.

* Out of the box the 110 comes with a “Tamiya” style connector and a port for plugging in receiver packs. If you use Deans or Traxxas connectors you’ll either need to buy, or solder up, an adapter.

Overall, we were big fans of the Onyx 110. It was easy to use, gave good quality charges, and took up very little room in our pit box. We can highly recommend the 110 to all you NiMH/NiCd users out there. To get full details on the Onyx 110 Here Is The Link to its page on the official Duratrax website.

The Duratrax Camaro ZL1 has been out for a while now, but we recently got one to review. It features a .18 nitro engine and one of the most scale authentic bodies ever produced by Duratrax. With the big nitro power and an affordable $299 price point, the Camaro ZL1 has the makings of a great bash machine.

Our full review is still a few weeks out, until then check out the unboxing pictures below. To get more information on the Duratrax Camaro simply hit up their Official Website.

Duratrax Short Course Tires
All you short course truck drivers have two new tire choices for your truck. Duratrax has announced they are bringing their Six Pack and Picket tread patterns to the SCT world.

We’ve been fans of the Six Pack tire design since we first tried them. They look cool and have good traction on a wide variety of surfaces. The new Six Pack SCs should give loads of traction to your SCT and we can’t wait to try a set.

Everyone knows the world revolves around scale looks now days, the new Picket SC tires can bring that type of look to your SCT. With an aggressive full scale type of tread, they look good and should work well on everything from pavement to loamy dirt.

Both sets of tires are available unmounted, or pre-mounted for the Traxxas Slash 2wd, Slash 4×4, HPI Blitz, Associated SC10, SC10 4×4, Losi SCTE, and the ARRMA Fury. Click Here for more information over on the official Duratrax website.

Duratrax 3.8 Hatchet MT Tires
There was one tire that stood out after the announcement of Duratrax’s new 3.8 Monster Truck Tire line-up, the Hatchet MT. You see, the Hatchet uses a scale inspired chevron style tread that looks like the tires on a full size monster truck, and they should do a great job of shoveling mud/dirt/gravel while out bashing. Luckily it wasn’t long and we had a set for testing in our hands.

We received the pre-mounted version of the Hatchet MT on chrome wheels. They come packaged like most tires today, in re-sealable plastic bag, and the wheels/tires were pre-glued and ready to be mounted to a vehicle. We are big fans of pre-mounted wheels/tires because of how much time they save, we would rather by bashing than gluing. Also, we’ve found that the Hatchet MTs are some big beefy tires. When placed next to a stock tire off a Thunder Tiger MT4-G3, they are slightly shorter, but much wider, and with very deep tread.

We’ve already been bashing with the Hatchet MTs, but our full review is still a few weeks away. To get full details on the Hatchet MTs, plus all the other 3.8″ monster truck tires that Duratrax makes, simply hit up This Link.
