So I was just getting ready to take some pictures and unbox the new DuraTraxDXR8-E Buggy when a good friend of ours, Mandi stopped by the office. You may know her as she helps us out from time to time at events and stuff like that. It was perfect timing. I asked if she would mind ‘helping out’, but I’m not sure she knew I was just going to leave her out there. Sorry Mandi! Thanks for playing along though. As always.. everyone is always happy when you stop in the office to say hi!
Here are some pictures, and make sure to click the big video picture, or ‘read more’ to check out the full video and more pics!
their normal product releases, DuraTrax has just announced they are jumping into the 1/8th scale market with the DXR8-E Buggy!
A few days ago, when we saw the teaser video from Duratrax, we were all pretty sure we knew a 1/8th scale buggy was on the way, but a race roller? I don’t think anyone would of guessed it wasn’t going to be RTR! The press release has the catch phrase ‘In it to Win!’ with the following details:
Designed for intermediate to expert off-road drivers.
Designed from the ground up as electric. Not a converted nitro..
Factory assembled 4WD rolling chassis
Duratrax Posse C3 racing tires included
Clear body and rear wing also included.
You will need to add a radio and brushless system. They also state that it’s shipping January 2012! Price should be under $400 when it hits the streets.

Of course that means it’s time for the unboxing photos. I have to admit this is one of DuraTrax’s better boxes. It has the punch out windows, that are actually taunting you to punch them out with little phrases on them like “Haven’t you torn this off yet?” and “Remove This Now!”
Ounce punched, you can get a pretty good view of the Evader inside. Opening the box, another cool feature is that the radio transmitter handle sort of works as an actual handle to carry it out of the store with! Nice work DuraTrax! Glad to see your packaging/marketing has bumped things up. Even our good friend Scott C. gets some face time!

The folks from DuraTrax continue their tire line with this latest offering. The Duratrax Persuader and Equalizer 1/8 scale buggy tires are that latest offering. The Equalizers are for high grip on looser tracks while the Persuader is meant for indoor or smooth, hard packed tracks. They are available in soft C2 or super-soft C3 compounds, and you can get them unmounted or mounted already for you.
Also from DuraTrax are these 1/8 Wheel Nuts. They are closed to keep out the dirt, dust and mud. 12mm inside diameter in black or blue with 1.0 or 1.25mm pitch. They also have Knurling on the inside flange to help keep them tight.
If you’ve got a ton of stuff to haul to your bashes,Duratrax have a new bag that should hold the whole lot comfortably. The Deluxe XL Field Bag is a generous 27″ long and 14″ wide, meaning it’s big enough for the biggest of short course trucks and 1/8 buggies, and theres plenty of room for spares and your radio in the external pockets too.
Duratrax have recently released a Camber Gauge, a useful tool if you like to keep the camber on your ride’s wheels in check. It can measure camber from 10° positive to 10° negative, and you can have it in any color you want as long as it’s black for a mere $5.49!
