BS-DBX VE 2.0 (2)

The review of the Kyosho DBX VE 2.0 buggy has begun but until it’s done, this unboxing should hold you over.  I know it isn’t a short course but on paper, the closest thing I want to compare this to on “features for the price” is the Traxxas Slash 4×4.  Given that, at $369.99 street it appears it’ll be a bargain.  Let’s take a closer look at what is inside the box.

The buggy is fully assembled and ready to go.  It includes two sets of decals (yellow and gold) to dress up the buggy as you like.

Under the body is a protective cover the shields the electronics from dust and debris.  It should help with a few small splashes but this is not advertised as a waterproof model.

Tons of pics and a video after the break…

axial box

We just got our hands on the Axial Ridgecrest. So before we go out and beat up on it, here are the unboxing photos while it’s still nice and shiny. I think Adam the Intern has been wanting to get his hands on one, and since he’s been the resident scale/crawler guy lately, I’ll be handing it off to him to get started on the review.

While snapping the photos of the box, I thought wow.. that’s some crazy lens they used to take the pictures of the truck with because the tires look huge.. well after getting it out of the box, the tires still look huge! :)

hpi apache c1

Over the weekend, Wrench picked up his HPI Racing  Apache C1 and dropped off the pics of the unboxing. We should have one to beat on in the office very soon as well, so expect a pretty in-depth review as we put the new buggies to the test!

Lots more pictures after the break!

Traxxas Grave Digger

We got our hands on the new Traxxas 1/16 scale Grave Digger, but I’m not sure if this is a unboxing or a un-packing. Our new Grave Digger was just begging to be let out of it’s home when it arrived. The truck with the radio barely fits, to the point of it’s more a releasing. The truck sticks it’s wheels out and claims ‘Finally, I can breath!’

Quick first impressions, no foam in the tires, am radio, 2WD. Those things being said, there is something about this truck that really draws me to it. It’s like a small scale Stampede. And if we can have nearly as much fun with the 1/16th scale Grave Digger that we have with our Stampede, it’s going to be a blast! We are looking forward to bashing the heck out of this little truck. Watch for a review in the near future, and for now, enjoy the pics!

Plenty more pictures after the break, keep reading..

ARRMA Granite

During our Forum Chat Night Evan was posting pictures of the ARRMA Granite 1/10th scale rc Monster Truck unboxing live for everyone to see. This was pretty cool because people could ask for different angles, or questions about the truck live, and he was giving them the answers right there. Thought we’d post the pics here to the front page for everyone to see. Some interesting things to note, the body and a few other parts do look different than when we got a preview of the truck at iHobby Expo. You can also head over to the insane forum thread we had, where the live unboxing happened. (along with a lot of other stuff!)

Make sure to hit the http://www.arrma-rc.com site for more vehicle details if needed.

Viper VX4 Brushless

Mandi Unboxing Duratrax DXR8

So I was just getting ready to take some pictures and unbox the new  DuraTrax DXR8-E Buggy when a good friend of ours, Mandi stopped by the office. You may know her as she helps us out from time to time at events and stuff like that. It was perfect timing. I asked if she would mind ‘helping out’, but I’m not sure she knew I was just going to leave her out there. Sorry Mandi! Thanks for playing along though. As always.. everyone is always happy when you stop in the office to say hi!

Here are some pictures, and make sure to click the big video picture, or ‘read more’ to check out the full video and more pics!

evader brushless
So yesterday we talked about the official press release and our Exclusive pictures of the new DuraTrax Evader Brushless. Less than 24 hours later, we have one in the office!

Of course that means it’s time for the unboxing photos. I have to admit this is one of DuraTrax’s better boxes. It has the punch out windows, that are actually taunting you to punch them out with little phrases on them like “Haven’t you torn this off yet?” and “Remove This Now!”

Ounce punched, you can get a pretty good view of the Evader inside. Opening the box, another cool feature is that the radio transmitter handle sort of works as an actual handle to carry it out of the store with! Nice work DuraTrax! Glad to see your packaging/marketing has bumped things up. Even our good friend Scott C. gets some face time! :)

micro super cub

So you may have noticed a couple of ads for some planes lately. This is one of those cross-overs that I think a lot of us bashers sort of secretly dabble in now and then. Wrench and I have been out with our resident super pilot 3DBill to try and fly now and then, and we all own at least one or two heli’s, so we figure we’d see if any of our readers have a interest in some flying as well. So expect a full review of the Micro Super Cub RTF to come shortly, but for now enjoy the pics.

Something worth mentioning. I never really thought about how light these things are till 3DBill pointed out the fact that WITH battery the plane weighs about the same as 5 quarters! That is mind blowing to me.

More pictures including the weigh in.. keep reading
