lrp dynamic 8

New from LRP is the Dynamic 8 1600kv Brushless Motor. It’s a high torque, hi efficiency 1/8 scale motor using a 4-pole magnet, and a multi-slot winding to help keep the heat down. Seems like more and more vehicles are using 1/8 scale systems, and the bigger they get, the more torque they need. A 1600kv should give ya plenty of torque.

They will be available in September 2012 for about $235.

lrp spin brushless esc New from LRP is the Spin Super Brushless ESC. It’s designed for the parking lot, and newbie guys and built for 1/10th scale on-road and off-road vehicles. It has a switching BEC and can handle from 2s to 4S lipo batteries. It’s upgradable via usb and is ‘splash proof’ which is more than enough protection for most people. We don’t have a price on this one yet, but if it can handle 4S I know there will be some interested people! The fact that LRP is saying it’s for the newbie/parking lot guys means it should be pretty affordable when it’s released.

So we don’t give a lot of love to nitro around here as of late. Wrench still reps nitro like a champ, but the rest of us have pulled away for the most part. There is still a lot of nitro love out there though, and LRP has a new ZR.32 Spec.2 Pull Start Nitro Engine available for anyone looking for a little non-battery powered boost. XTEC T6 engine housing, XTEC PowerCarb 2 15S-2 carburetor with 9mm inserts, universal fit, and an ultra strong pull start all look to make this guy a winner. It’d fit great in your 1/8 scale buggy, truggy, or monster truck, and 4.34HP is no joke! It should be available now for around $330.

It looks like LRP has an update to their A.i. Runner Reverse ESC This is a legendary ESC that features a no-button setup! Just plug it in and you’re off and running. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. I can never remember the setup instructions on my of my ESCs. There is nothing more frustrating than being out somewhere and not having the write-up on your ESC if you need to reprogram. It is now 100% waterproof, features a fail-safe that stops your vehicle in the event of running out of radio range, and an on/off switch. It should be available anytime for around $70. I’ve got to say, I love all these MFGs getting on the waterproofing kick!

Be sure to hit up LRP for all the info.

Who says 2wd buggy is dead? Well, besides everybody… LRP apparently hasn’t gotten the memo though as they introduce their brand new S10 Twister. It’s a 1/10 scale buggy that comes ready to run with a 27 MHz radio, 540 brushed motor paired to a digital ESC, a battery and charger. Other nice features are full ball bearings, a fully adjustable suspension with oil-filled shocks, and a composite tub chassis for durability.

The LRP S10 Twister is hitting the shelves over in Europe right now, no word if it’ll make the jump across the Atlantic (or the longer jump across the Asian continent and then the Pacific, or maybe it’ll take a polar route and come across Canada). For more info check out the LRP website.

sxx and vector combo
It seems like every week or so we get a PR from LRP with something about the SXX V.2 Speed Controller in it, and this week is no exception. The latest news is that the SXX will now be bundled with the Vector X-12L Short Course 550 motor. This is good for those that like to keep their stuff paired up and to keep it simple and get them both in one package. This combo should be available by the time you read this, so head on over to your favorite shop and check it out.

If you’re a LRP Pulsar Touch user, head on over to the LRP website and download the latest firmware for your charger! v1.46 now includes a revised adjustable “Charge Volt” settings for lipos, step charging for NiMH batteries without a temperature probe, and some other small improvements to the touch screen.

LRP has some new goodies to keep you powered up and cool this summer. First up are two new lipo balance adaptor boards designed to fit their LRP Pulsar Touch and LRP Quadro 2 chargers. LRP also offers a new low-profile cooling fan with aluminum screws. This baby will also be avaliable in August for under 20 bones. It should fit right on the following ESCs from LRP:

- SXX TC-Spec v.2

Overheating much?  LRP might have a solution for you with their new Radical Cooling Set.  The set includes a heatsink that is secured to pretty much any typical brushless 1/10 scale motor (540 size) with screw clamps and a small fan that plugs directly into any spare slot on your receiver.  LRP claims that they’ve seen drops of up to 30° F.  The Radical Cooling Set will be available in gunmetal grey and blue anodized colors for a stylish look.

Team Associated is the US distributor of LRP’s products and they say the Radical Cooling Set will be available in May at an MSRP of $64.99.  Check out the Team Associated website for more info.

If you’re looking for a more “everyday driver” brushless motor, LRP has you covered with their all new Vector K4 Brushless Motor line. The K4 has standard 540 sized can, comes in a variety of windings (from 6.5T to 17.5T), and is completely rebuildable. The motor has a 5mm shaft and has many of the same innovations featured in the Vector X-12 Stock Spec motor we talked about yesterday.

The motors should be avaliable in May for a MSRP of $109.99. Head over to the LRP website for more information.
