Spiked Short Course Truck Wheels from 3D Printer

You’ve seen that 3D Printers are becoming all the rage, here is an example of how they can be used in rc. The spiked wheels in the pictures were made from a 3D printer and you can make them at home too. First you have to buy a 3D printer, then you have to visit Thingiverse and download the spiked wheel file. Feed the file into your printer and sha-zam, you end up with a set of crazy spiked wheels. The person sharing the file over on Thingiverse, kallaspriit, says the spiked wheels get great traction on snow, but they look like they would get a lot of traction on most any loose surface.

RedCat S-TRYK-R (and brushless PRO) 3-Wheel Belt Drive Cars Now For Sale

Last fall we posted some pictures of a new 3 wheeled bash machine from RedCat called the S-TRYK-R. It seems we weren’t the only people liking the uniqueness of the S-TRYK-R, it aquired quite a following on the web and it had not even been released yet.

The wait is over and the S-TRYK-R is now for sale. There are two versions- brushed and brushless, and they are both shipping right now. The S-TRYK-R uses belts to power all three of its wheels, which should make it quite unique to drive. Here are some of the other specifications-

* Includes 2.4 GHz radio system
* Forward and Reverse
* Full time 3 Wheel Belt Drive
* Length- 368mm
* Width- 216mm
* Height- 135mm
* Wheelbase- 285mm
* Ground Clearance- 9mm
* Shocks- Aluminum Capped Oil Filled
* Includes 7.2v Ni-MH (brushed) or 7.4v Lipo (brushless PRO) with Charger
* Brushed motor on standard edition, 4500kv brushless on PRO model

Gens Ace Alpha Series Lipo’s

The crew over at Gens Ace have just announced two new Lipo Batteries, a 2S 6000 mah 70C hardcase, and a 2S 7000 mah 50C hardcase. 4mm bullet connectors are used to connect your wires to the packs and they have a release date of this May. For more information hit up the official Gens Ace Website.

Precirotate (PR) S1 V2 1/10 2wd Buggy

The crew over at Precirotate have announced a new version of their Proken buggy called the S1 V2. The new Version 2 comes with multiple updates, like an improved chassis, more bling, and a new cab forward body. If you are looking for something different to race in the 2wd buggy class, the PR S1 V2 should certainly stand out in a crowd of Durango, Associated, and Losi. Some of the specifications include-

Team Azarashi Redseal Prototype Buggy

Team Azarashi have released a photo of their new prototype Redseal 10th scale 2wd off-road buggy. As we’ve seen over the last couple of years, 2wd buggies have remained strong at local tracks and a multitude of companies have been putting out new cars for the class. Overseas Azarashi is known for their lexan bodies and uber Grayseal 4wd buggy conversion, the Redseal should make an impressive addition to their product line-up.

As of this time there are no plans for the Redseal to come to the states, but you can check out all of Team Azarashi’s trick products (in English) by hitting THIS link.

Slot and Wing Hobbies Booth eFest 2013

Champaign Illinois is known as the “epicenter of the rc world” for good reason, both Hobbico and Horizon Hobby are based there. It is also home to Slot and Wing Hobbies, one of the best known hobby shops in the entire country. Slot and Wing is known for being one of those shops where you can walk in and find all sorts of neat items that most hobby shops don’t stock. Being a big supporter of the hobby, Slot and Wing had a booth at eFest, answering questions and showing some of their stock. If you are a truly hardcore hobbyist, Slot and Wing is one of those hobby shops that you must visit at least once in your life.
