RC4WD is perhaps best known for their small scale off-road tires. Dick Cepek Tires is perhaps best know for their full scale off-road tires. So it only makes sense that one would hook up with the other in an effort to introduce more small scale tires that look like full scale tires. RC4WD now has license to take Dick Cepek full scale tires and make them small scale with all the requisite trademarked and patented details that you scale builders demand.
Their first tire in what is hopefully a broad arrangement is the Dick Cepek Mud Country tire. The RC4WD version features the very detailed tread pattern, raised lettering, and the trademarked “DC” Sitebiters for extra traction in the deep stuff that the full scale version has. It’s available for 1.9″ wheels and is molded in RC4WD’s Advanced X3 Soft & Sticky Compound. It also has internal sidewall reinforcement for extra durability.
Keep an eye on the RC4WD web site for more information that is sure to be coming soon.
How limited edition? Try only 4 complete sets were produced. There’s not much else to say about RC4WD’s Hummer H1 Baja 5T rims. They look cool and they’re unique, which you’ll pay handsomely for, because they are listed at $249.99 for a set.
These are exclusively available through TGN Distributing. Hit up the TGN web site for more info.
The Losi Micro Crawler is apparently popular enough to attract the attention of one of the bigger players in the rock crawling sector. RC4WD has made some of their popular tires and wheels fit the Micro Crawler. So now all you Micro Crawler owners can find a tire for every condition you may run into. Some of the treads that are available are the Rock Crusher and Rok Lox.
Check out the RC4WD web site for more info, prices, and ship dates.

The fine folks at RC4WD sent word today that as of right now this very second many of their popular wheels and tires are now available individually instead of in pairs. A few of the tires they’re offering as singles are the Dirt Grabber series, Mud Slingers, Mud Thrashers, and the very popular Rok Lox. Right now there’s 15 tire types and 16 wheel types they are offering as singles. RC4WD says they’ll add more as demand dictates so don’t be afraid to voice your opinion on what you want.
The tires are available under the appropriately named Single Tires category and the wheels under the Single Wheels category.

The good people over at RC4WD are showing some love for the Traxxas Slash 4×4 and 2WD Slash! First up on the left are the first functional custom billet beadlock wheels for the Slash 4×4 called the Outlaw 2.2/3.0 Racing Wheels. They weigh 5.8 ounces each, have the same offset as the stock wheels and are designed only to fit the Slash 4×4. They only work with Traxxas Slash stock tires, so keep that in mind if you are looking to buy a set.
They have also released the Shock Lightweight Beadlock Wheels for the Slash 2WD. They are very scale looking, lightweight plastic beadlocks, and can be used with Proline and RC4WD 2.2/3.0 tires.

Hey rock crawlers, here’s something new for you from RC4WD, check it out. They’re putting out a new 1.9″ class scaler kit, called the Boyer 1/10 Scale Truggy, that may be the most versatile and adjustable chassis ever made by an r/c manufacturer. I mean, look at it. Look at all those holes everywhere. The mind boggles at how many different ways you could set this chassis up.
Here’s just a short list of all the things that are adjustable on this chassis:
Beyond all that, the complete kit comes with RC4WD’s popular and durable T-Rex axles, a full compliment of their OEM Steel 1.9″ wheels, some fat Rock Crusher meats, full ball bearings, dual spring shocks, a Bulldog 9500XT metal winch, plus more. The kit is designed to fit Tamiya’s Hilux, F350, and Tundra hard bodies, or it can be adjusted to fit any other polycarbonate bodies. If you don’t want the full kit, you can also get the chassis by itself and then mix-and-match your favorite parts.
The kit has a going price of $599.99 while the chassis only option is set at $299.99. Find out more about this John Boyer engineered piece of art at the RC4WD web site.

Hey all, this is part two of the bigger than usual Cub Report, since the last one was a good chunk with all the iHobby talk, this part is a little different subject matter, but still stuff I wanted to talk about, it was just too much for one report.
Wow, I mean Seriously Wow! I don’t know who the guys behind RC4WD are, and I’m definitely not a crawler guy, but Wow, RC4WD’s new products look sweet. Realism is selling right now, and not only do RC4WD products lean towards scale realism, but they just plain look trick. For years and years rc cars have gotten farther and farther away from the looks of the real thing, nice to see the trend going the other way! New products from RC4WD include their 8th scale comp crawler kit, 10th scale metal chassis, and 10th scale Fracture V8 engine shell with transfer case that you install a normal 540 electric motor in. Trick, uber trick.
Parma! I gotta give the Parma guys some love this week, as their new Dune Buggy body looks really trick! The Dune Buggy body brings back so many fond memories, and is the best looking body to come out of Parma in quite some time. It’s intended to be bolted up on the Traxxis Slash chassis, and looks very much like the Meyers Manx dune buggies from the late 60’s.
Ofna has drastically cut back on advertising as of late, but they’ve recently released info on their new Hyper 10 4×4 SC truck. Most any truck that is a 4×4 is a blast to drive, and the OFNA looks to use a very beefy 8th scale’ish drivetrain for durability. Even though a heavy drivetrain is used, the truck is set-up to run a 10th scale power system on 2S lithium, saving loads of bucks over using an 8th scale power system and high cell counts. Easy to drive 4wd, beefy drive train, and SC looks, Ofna might have a winner on their hands with this one.
A note to ALL he industry folks out there. BigSquidRC will be holding a second Li-po battery shootout. We’ve shot out a ton of emails inviting everyone we could think of to be in the shootout, but it seems many of these emails go unread or are shot into spam boxes. So if you want in on our second Li-po shootout, send Brian at BigSquidRC.com an email to get complete info. If you are a consumer and want to see your favorite brand of Li-po battery included, and you have a inside contact at your preferred battery company, please invite them to shoot Brian an email to be included. We’ll start the second shootout the weekend of November 28th, so all packs must be received no later than November 25th.
We’ll also be doing a battery charger shootout in the next couple of months. So if you are an industry person and want your charger included in the shootout, shoot us an email at Brian at BigSquidRC.com for complete information on how the shootout will be conducted, and a time frame when we’ll need your charger for the shootout.
That’s it for this week, support your hobby/industry in any way you can, you Industry guys, start dropping Brian some email! (Not just the hate kind).

Until now, under the hood of scale RC Crawlers was typically the area where the unrealistic looking components of a Scale RC build were hidden. RC4WD has changed all of that with the release of their V8 engine with built on Transfer case. Designed by Fracture (from New Zealand) and CNC machined from Billet Aluminum, the unit houses a 540 size motor and offers a 1:19 final gear reduction.
