If you’re into scale RC, then RC4WD probably sounds familiar to you. Their new Trail Finder 2 Kit offers some awesome features, such as a two-speed transmission, highly detailed bodywork and scale leaf spring suspension to name but a few. It comes with everything you need to get up and running, minus elecronics, including high-grip Mud Thrasher tires and a Mojave body kit. Being RC4WD, durable metal parts will last a lifetime, but a wide range of option and performance parts are also available.

Falling under the ‘YES PLEASE WHERE DO WE TRADE IN OUR SOUL’ category, we just got the press release from RC4WD for their new Predator Tracks. I’m going to state right now this may be one of their most beautiful products yet. They are designed for serious traction all terrain action in sand, snow and probably anything else you can throw in front of them.
They are made from machined billet aluminum with a full bearing setup, and have adjustable track tension for the rubber tracks. They were designed by RC4WD UK and manufactured by RC4WD. You get two sets of tracks for $119! They have kits so you can add them to your Axial SCX-10 or AX-10!

RC4WD MAXTRAX Vehicle Extraction and Recovery Boards

Scale stuff is so dang cool! RC4WD has teamed with MAXTRAX to make some 1/10 scale Vehicle Extraction and Recovery Boards. Designed to give you vehicle the extra traction you need to get out of a sticky situation, lay down the bright orange boards to gain that little bit of extra grip you need. These should be avaliable on or before 11/17, and a pair will set you back about $18.

iPhly for Apple iPhone & iPod Touch

It was only a matter of time… You can now drive an RC plane, heli, car, truck, crawler, or just about any other RC vehicle with your iPhone or iPod Touch thanks to iPhly and RC4WD! The iPhly incorporates a Spektrum, Futaba, HiTec, Frysky, or Corona RF module into their “case” that surrounds your iDevice. There is an app that interacts with that case that allows you to store models and interact with them. The software supports thousands of models in memory, has EPA, servo reversing, adjustable steering throw, and has modes for both cars and planes/helis. Best of all, it comes in right at $100!

RC4WD Hardened Steel gears for XR10

Plastic, nylon, delrin gears… who needs ‘em huh? They’re always a weak link in any drive train and one of the first recommended upgrades when you’re stepping up to the mega power of brushless or high torque crawler systems is to change those gears for some metal equivilents. But even in some situations those metal parts might not be up to the job. RC4WD knows that, and that’s why they’ve introduced a new line of Hardened steel gears for the Axial XR10 super crawler. One kit includes five gears, enough to completely convert one axle to hardened goodness. These gears are a little weightier than the stock gears, which RC4WD says lowers the center of gravity, offering better crawling performance.

RC4WD applies shrink ray to Ballistic Fabrication products

If you’re looking for more ways to add a touch of realism to your scale crawler RC4WD has a couple new officially licensed products from Ballistic Fabrication for you. If you’re not happy with those big, bulky plastic kit axles you’ve been using then you might want to have a gander at the Ballistic Fabrication axle. It features Ballistic’s unique pumpkin style and comes loaded with 2.5:1 ratio gears, high clearance knuckles, 12mm wheel hexes, and measures 7.35″ from hex to hex. Separate axles are available for front or rear applications. You can get it in any color you like, as long as it’s black.

Also available are faux Piggyback shock reservoir caps for RC4WD’s dual spring scale shocks. The caps are CNC machined and anodized in blue or black. The Ballistic Fabrication logo is etched into the surface for an extra touch.

These parts will be available soon directly from the RC4WD store. The axle’s are going for $139.99 each and the shock caps are $19.99 per pair.

RC4WD scaling down Viking Offroad accessories

Is there anything more important for a scale rig’s realistic looks than authentic full scale logos? RC4WD doesn’t think so, that’s why they’ve been licensing every full scale product they can. This latest product is the Viking Offroad Fairlead winch guide. RC4WD’s miniature version is machined out of aluminum and powder coated with the Viking name engraved on top to finish off the detail.

RC4WD Hardcore Slash Chassis video

Here’s some video of RC4WD‘s recently announced solid axle conversion chassis, the Hardcore, in action. The Hardcore chassis conversion takes the Traxxas Slash to the next level of realism, with a full on 4-link rear suspension holding on a solid rear axle, just like the full scale short course trucks run. RC4WD officially licensed Interco Super Swampers

RC4WD is stepping their game up and bringing more officially licensed awesomeness to the scale builder’s tool box. Not content with just offering Dick Cepek Tires, the group at RC4WD has decided to also grab one of the other big dogs in the field and now have Interco’s Super Swamper TSL/Bogger in their stable of tires. The details that they were able to capture in their mold is mind-blowing. Everything you expect to see on the full scale tire is there on this 1.9″ class tire. They’ll be offered in RC4WD’s soft and sticky Advanced X3 compound, so they should give you more traction than you’ll know what to do with. RC4WD also makes the claim that this is the tallest 1.9″ tire on the market.

The Super Swamper should be available on November 15th at a price of $24.99 per pair with foam inserts and an Interco decal sheet. Check out the RC4WD store for more info.

Dick Cepek Licensed Torque wheel from RC4WD

RC4WD‘s deal with Dick Cepek Tires extends beyond just tires. The new DC Torque wheel is a 1.9″ class beadlock wheel that has all the detail of the full scale version, including a scale wheel nut cover featuring the Dick Cepek logo. They certainly are a fine looking wheel. Expect to pay handsomely for the chance to put these on your rig though. A complete set of 4 will be listed at $129.99. They should be hitting the market around the first of next month.
