Is this the beginning of the end for Trinity? The Team Trinity website is showing a ‘moving sale’, but most people are saying it’s probably a Going out of Business Sale. If you haven’t been into RC for a while, you probably never heard of Team Trinity. Years ago they used to make some vehicles that were usually knock offs of more popular Associated or Losi stuff, and nobody really bought them. The fact that they usually cost more didn’t help. The president, Ernest Provetti recently posted this letter (PDF FILE) which explains their move and name change, and says they will be back, but a lot of industry insiders are saying this may be the last big wave they make. Time will tell. If you are a Trinity fan, looks like a lot of stuff is on sale over there.

I am still waiting for confirmation on this, but as of right now, it sounds like HPI has bought outright Team Associated and Team Losi! Team Associated is happy because it might put them back in the news, it’s been quiet from them. Team Losi is excited because they see it as an opportunity to sell 18 more versions of the Mini T! (This year alone, rumor has it there is a boat body, a dirt bike body, and some sort of hybrid turtle). HPI said ‘It seemed like a good deal at the time.’, and will be re-listing both on ebay. No Reserve.

So I made a few phone calls to our spys in the trenches and came up with these. I have been told that these are still in testing, and both vehicles may change before we see them for sale. This first vehicle is being called the CEN Baja Matrix STX. It’s a cool new trophy truck from CEN Racing based on the Matrix Buggy platform with a few changes including tires, wheels, body mounts and suspension. I think this will be a fun vehicle at the track for sure!
This next vehicle is a new monster truck! I was asked to not mention the name of the truck because it is still early, and might not end up being the final name. I was told it should be very competitive with the Savage as far as speed, durability and performance goes. It will be running a new Corsa .28 engine which is a new Italian brand of engines! I’m a big fan of the Genesis, so having a smaller version I think could be pretty cool!

Just wanted to post a rumor I have been hearing that the ROAR organization is just a few days away from legalizing Li-Po’s in their races with the requirement that the packs be sealed in some sort of hard case. So for all you die-hard racing nuts, it looks like you might finally get to experience what the rest of the world has been using for 2+ years. (Way to stay on top of the times ROAR).

As what appears to be a total coincidence, Max Amps just announced in our forums that they have a new SKIN out for covering their batteries. I have no idea if this will make their packs ROAR legal or not, but I’m guessing the odds are good.
