It’s awesome to see Pro-Line coming out with some new original bodies! Their latest is the Desert Militia for the Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo. Similar to their Rat Rod body, the Desert Militia body is going to have people dusting off their 1/16th scales and show them off with a whole new look! I can’t wait to see the hardcore scale guys throwing real light bars on the roof!
Pro-Line caused a serious stir among the rc community earlier in the week when they teased a picture of their upcoming Rat Rod body for the Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo. It was cool to see Pro-Line take a small step from their normal stuff and put out such a cool scale looking body. Painting the tires to look like white walls is a great, quick and easy step to really bringing the whole look together. We are looking forward to getting our hands on this body, and also have our fingers crossed that Pro-Line produces a similar body in other scales!

Today Wrench (aka Bill) and I loaded up the families and headed to check out this years Monster Jam event in Rosemont Illinois. While everyone had a good time, it all seemed very scripted. Like we were watching WWE with trucks. Grave Digger won all 3 competitions. The race, the wheelie, and the freestyle. And while the truck put on a great show, it almost seemed like the other guys held back a little, and of course Grave Digger was the FINAL truck in the freestyle to end the evening.
There was some AWESOME freestyle quad action that my son thought was incredible, especially when it came to the backflips. Those guys are nuts! There was also quad racing, where it was again very scripted to have the ‘Chicago Team’ win in the final race after all but two vehicles were ‘black flagged’ leaving 1 quad from each team to battle it out on the last lap.
There was one mention of Traxxas when they gave away a Traxxas Monster Jam vehicle to a kid in the audience.
The Jet Powered Smart car shot is for Jim S. Seriously, you need to do this to yours!
In the end it was a good show, and the family was very entertained. The only part that really left the sour taste in my mouth was the price gauging. (This does not include food and souvenirs, that’s expected) I have no problem paying $32 a ticket to be entertained. I HATE paying TicketMaster their $8 convenience fee PER ticket (how is it a convenience for me to do ALL the work? And why is it PER ticket? All I had to do was use type in a 4) I had to pay another $4 to print my tickets myself! And finally to top it off $20 parking fee! Weird.. it was FREE parking a few weeks before for people going to Disney on Ice, and $10 for a previous event.. but this one was $20. Would rather spend that $20 on Monster Truck Snow Cones!
Bill has posted a few of his pictures over on our Facebook Page you can check out as well.
Two of Traxxas’s legendary monster trucks just got even better, they now come not only with the Traxxas TQi radio system and docking base, but they even have telemetry pre-installed. The addition of the on-board telemetry really helps you keep track of what is going on in your truck as you can see real-time data such as speed, engine RPM, engine temperature, and battery voltage. The part numbers stay the same as before, #4907 for the T-Maxx 3.3, and #5309 for the Revo 3.3. Hit up the official Traxxas Website for more information.

Traxxas continues to amaze us when it comes to their support of 1:1 scale events and cross-over marketing. One of their latest ventures into marketing at full scale events is with “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions”, Barrett Jackson. You probably know Barrett Jackson from watching them auction off exotic and rare collector cars on Speed TV, and now Traxxas is one of their event sponsors. No doubt, Traxxas will get a lot of mainstream exposure by teaming up with folks over at Barrett Jackson. Is there a special Barrett Jackson Edition Traxxas muscle car in the works? We can only hope.
