The Snowbirds Nationals is one of the biggest rc races in the world. Each year hundreds of racers flock to Florida and race 24 hours a day to get their rc fix. All that racing can get stressful, so as a way of blowing off steam they hold a Figure 8 Race. Our friends over at Horizon Hobby took some video of the Figure 8 race this year to show everyone just how crazy it gets. Enjoy the massive collisions and hit up This Link to see all the products that Horizon has to offer. They even have a Valentines special of free shipping on every order for the next couple of days.
Thank Goodness It’s Friday, have a go at a BigSquidRC Mystery Link.
Check out the video of the Corvette Museum sink hole from a quadcopter camera. Not the best flying in the world, but still cool to see how deep inside this thing is, and how scary the rest is. No way you’d catch us standing nearly that close to the edge knowing there’s nothing under most of that floor.
Need to send 3DBill down there, he would of been doing rolls and flips, probably would of flown inside one of the Corvettes!
Recently spotted this video of the new Renault Concept Car called the Kwid. The interesting thing about the video is that it uses a quadcopter to show off the smooth lines, and the interior of this futuristic concept vehicle. Not sure what we think of the look of the Renault, but the fact that it apparently will come with a place to store our quadcopters has us wanting one. At least maybe other car companies could recognize the need places to store our RC!
Enjoy the video:

What RC vehicles do you think need a storage space in your next full size vehicle. Have you bought a vehicle based on the capacity of holding your RC gear?
For the record, yes.. yes I have. I actually measured the cargo space area of my last two vehicles to make sure they could carry my ‘normal’ bash day needs.

Team Durango has been teasing their new DETC410 high-end touring car for months. Now they’ve released a video that shows one of their team drivers, Elliott Harper, building the first production unit. The video is sped up to show the entire build, in the end it looks like a pretty trick piece of machinery.
The Durango DETC410 has a part number of #TD102023, they should have a street price of just under $400, and we are told they should start showing up at your LHS in late February.

With the kick off of the 2014 Dakar Rally just 2 days away, there are a lot of wrenches spinning down in South America getting ready for one of the toughest races on Earth. One of the coolest trucks entered this year is from Robby Gordon. His bright orange Speed Energy, Toyo Tires, Traxxas backed truck looks trick and ready for some hard miles down south. Gordon’s HST sports a new body design this year, which we think would like mighty good mounted up on an rc vehicle.
For more information on everything Robby Gordon hit up his website, Planet Robby. To learn more about the 2014 Dakar Rally, check out This Link.
