Everybody’s Scalin’ – Almost time for Mud, Rocks and Tears

Hey folks, it’s gonna be an “odds and ends” type of post this week.

Mud, Rocks, and Tears, the first BSRC scaling event, is taking place tomorrow, Saturday April 7 2018, in Crystal City, Missouri. The Crystal City Underground location is a super cool spot, and the STL RC Freaks have gotten the area ready to do work! There will be rocks and mud a-plenty.

In addition to providing a spot for trigger time, we also have a good number of giveaways for those in attendance! Horizon Hobby is the title sponsor and they are giving away a Losi Rock Rey and Vaterra Ascender to two lucky folks that attend. Pro-Line, RC4WD, Pitbull tires, Savox servos, as well as Team Turkey, Slinky’s RC Garage, and Anarchy RC are also sponsoring the event with a variety of their own giveaways. You should come on out!

Changing gears, we recently posted the second episode of the Big Squid RC Podcast, and this time the guest was Patrick del Castillo from Castle Creations. If you are into crawling, you should most certainly check it out. Heck, even if you aren’t you should still listen. It was really fascinating to hear just how popular this segment of the hobby is and for the educated guesses as to where the technology associated with it will head to.

There is also a very candid discussion on the difficulties that Castle, an American manufacturer, faces in regards to overseas copying/theft of technology.

Tim has done a great job on the first couple episodes, and I’m excited to hear some the upcoming shows with the guests he has lined up.

Lastly, I’ve REALLY become hooked on Spintires: Mudrunner (PS4 version). I know I’ve talked about it before, but that was like 60 hours of gameplay ago. I’m looking to do some sort of Spintires type r/c log-truck build to have fun with this summer, and the Cross RC UC6 may just fit the bill.

Truth be told, I have never built a 6×6 rig and it’s something that’s been on my bucket list for awhile. Whether it’s the UC6 or not, hopefully you’ll be seeing some sort of log wagon build in the near future here.

Ok folks, that’s it for me. Have a great weekend! Hope you come out to the event!
