The New Era 10 th scale PS was my very first drag car. At the time it was my pride and joy. Plus I put a Bolink Beretta body on it and detailed the crap out of it. But all in all it was a piece of sh--------t! I had to make several modifications on the chassis to make it work. I later stepped up to the 8th scale new era cars. Simply because thats what everybody else was racing. This was 6 years ago. Than after Walbern came out-everybody jumped ship to go much faster leaving us New Era racer in the dust. forcing us all to step up. So in short if you donot plan on racing fast and competitivly. Than yes go new era-they are decent bracket cars, Unless you do a lot of cutting and drilling to liten it up. I mean alot!!!! you can possibly race them competitive.

I don't know bout that one because it is a couple of New Era's around here and they are hitting just as hard as us guys with the Walberns and GMS's But this year will be one to see in Lynnwood, it seems that everyone is stepping up there their game to come out swinging like champs. If i took one of those cars today, with all I have learned in the last for years-I can definitly make one very competitive. I really wouldn't give new era any business, because they are assholes-and won't take any ideas from anybody. They have never made a new body for any of there different cars. always the same thing. When i was racing there car i could never get parts in a timely manner, So most of the parts that I used for NE cars where made by a very goodfriend of mine. He had a leightin his in house or garage. He made all my parts i needed.

I dont mean any disrespect Mark. But you said that you were running New era 6 years ago. Dont you think that somethings with the car has changed by now? Tuslow do you know what engines are being ran on these new era's? I would like to know so that if I do get one that I may be able to keep up even if I lose. I would still like to make a serious race of it. And mark could you tell me what modifications that you had to make on yours so that I may lighten it up even more?
Thanks guys

Quote: with all I have learned in the last four years-I can definitly make one very competitive. I know that new era have made a couple liter chassis. They don't look like nothing they did a few years back, The cars that i ran had the full realistic roll cage and full dragster/ funny car chassis. If you remember they where powder coated black, Those cars where and are extremly heavy...........Those are the cars i am talking about not the newer aluminum upgrades they have today. So don't get me wrong. With that said..........New Era's customer service dept sucks (Donna) whom always delt with wasn't the nicest person to talk nor was the owner, I forget his name, But I gave them alot of positive suggestions and they just out right declined any suggestions. Fine I will make them my self, I said........That was it, my friend made spun aluminum rims-everything you needed. I had him make me a graphite rear plate, narrowed my front and rear axles so that the car would fit under the body the that it should. a few other things where done as well.

Dynamites are not bad engines , dont listen to 2slo ,Disco. My New Era PRo Stock weights 2lb 1oz. according to New Era , no engine or radio & servos.
They are very stout cars , I mean I pick mine up from the front end and pass it around to people , or by the wheelie bars either way it dont matter .
Now the New Era crowd is smaller than the feather weight light heads who can drop the insane cash on a GMS or a Walbern , then drop another insane amount on the Xenon or 359 , or how ever much your secret weapon cost PLUS the insane price Mod on the P/S/C .
Disco , get yourself a long stroke with some good low grunt , cuz these aint no carbon fiber lightweight chassis , they are metal and weigh much more.
You know what , a good person to ask about New Era OLD style with the tube chassis is ModRodz ( Rickie) he was almost smoked by a New Era !!!! In Lynwood no less , and if he wont admit it ask fonz cuz he was the one puttin the screws to Rick and reeling him in , If the race was any longer than 132 he would have beat him in that heavy OLD tube chassis.
I could talk all night but I want to go home for the weekend , ( No work on Friday for me hahahahahahahahaha suckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Good luck in what ever you decide , oh also I think Jerry Anderson is a New Era Rep so you may be able to get it from him aswell.
later
steve

Mark I will have to say, your right on the parts thing. I know of a few people around here, that did order the car last year. And still waiting for it to come. That being said.... How long do you think it will be on ordering parts? I would say if you do have a NEW E order them up now (Parts).. We race ever weekend. I would hate to see someone side line for lack of parts.
As for what the NEW E can do.. I don't think that car will break 1.90 (et's) Because of it's weight. Last year was all about learning the car.(for guys around here some high et's) This year It's gonna be another story. If you look around the world, and see what other cars are running.. You will see some CRAZY numbers. Like
Nitro Pro Stocks running in the 1.84 to 1.90
Elec Pro stocks running 1.65 to 1.73
.21 Pro Mods running 1.66 to 1.72
Elec Pro Mods running 1.63 to 1.70
Nitro Funny cars running 1.63 to 1.72
Elec Funny cars running 1.54 to 1.66
Nitro rails running 1.58 to 1.68
Elec Rails running 1.50 to 1.60
Then if you look at lipo's even more CRAZY. But i would love to see a New E hit some of these numbers. Can it really be done. I think in time around here. The New E will fall fast behind, and will not be able to keep up. Guess we will see next year...

I have ordered several parts from there and they came pretty quick , never really had any problems . But if we want to talk about waiting for parts Walbern , from what I hear is the KING of waiting for parts , just what I heard from the average joe ,

Well for all you guys out there this is fonz, some know me and some don't. I have the new era old style at 4 pounds and 6 OZ running 1.90 at 70 and steal can get some more when I begane to tweak it. I order parts and get them in 3-4 days .The lady you are talking about I kind of understand you, but shes no worser then other people I spoke with for orders. Toslow dynamite is not a bad motor I have a few of them, my GTP has that m-26 and you know how she runs every one on a 159 th , but if you get one disco try that dynamite platinum 21, people is sleep on that motor
