I want to start discussion of possible locations and dates for the SCRC 2008 Summer Comp Series. I will create a similar thread on BigSquidRC forum also.

Ideas for locations and dates need to be discussed. Considering that we already have a comp scheduled for June 7th down south at Jeff's place we need to start planning comps to follow. Maybe scheduling comps approx 3 to 4 weeks apart?

Here's the current two locations I'm aware of:

Lockport, near Dellwood Park
Elk Grove Village, Busse Woods

Also we need to gauge interest of what classes to run at the comps. Obviously we have a lot of competitors for 2.2 Class, but do we have people interested in Super Class and some sort of Scale Class?

I personally have a 2.2 and a Super. I'm considering a scaler at the moment.

Less than a week before the opening Comp of the summer series!!! Everyone please review the dates/times in my previous post.

SCRC members, please arrive at 11:30am for the club meeting. This is an important meeting as elections for club officers will be held.

ANY competitior that is under the age of 18....please contact me via PM so that I can send you a LIABILITY RELEASE FORM that your guardian will need to sign and that you will need to bring to the comp. For those people over 18, the form will be available at the comp location.

This should be a GREAT summer series.

What a great time, sure was nice to get outdoors! Sucks that the rain prohibited the second run, but let me tell you, it was a good thing that we bailed when we did, it really came down about 10 minutes after everybody left, actually several periods of heavy rainfall.

Has it been determined if we will have a rain date to make up the second run?

to me it would make most sense to do an extra course at the next comp with only those that were signed up for the last comp. However, several people left after run 1, by giving a makeup run it allows them to change their mind/adjust their truck.

my 2 cents.. call it a day. At least 1/2 the day was done.

I wanted to run course 2, and look forward to it, maybe we do that for event 3? Don't want to go back there too many times, plus it's not easy getting everyone together so many times.

After thinking this over and reading a few responses here, I think we should call Comp #1 complete, (not just because I did well with points), but due to several reasons, let me know your thoughts:

1. It may be difficult if not impossible to have all of the same competitors together at the same time to perform (makeup) course 2, if somebody can't make it to a future comp (and perform the makeup course 2), it should not negatively affect their score from Comp #1 of the Series

2. Time: seems that time is always limited for certain people, it may be difficult to run two courses then an extra course on top of it

3. Like Jetboat said: some people left after course 1 (before we all decided to leave), would it really be fair to give them a second chance to run course 2? And how do we fairly determine who gets to run the course 2 of Comp #1?

4. If we call Comp #1 complete with only one course it will make it easier for people who couldn't make it to catch up in points, and it seemed that we were missing quite a few regulars

Just my opinion, let me know what everybody thinks.
