Hey guys, I just posted a little info on the front news page about the RB Innovations Super Charger.. (posted a bunch of info in the New Product Forum.)
Anyway.. anyone here have one of these things yet? I have seen one inperson once, but he was having some tuning troubles.. I'm guessing that when you start jamming air down the carb, you are going to need to do some adjustments... just curious if anyone has checked em out.

Seems to me, that at Idle, with the Supercharger turning lower RPM's, it will push less air than on throttle. Problem with this is, if you tune the engine at idle, you will be TOO lean on throttle. If you tune at Higher RPM's (on throttle), you will be TOO rich at idle.
In Theory, it SEEMS like a good idea, but IMO, it would just reduce engine life. I may be completely wrong about this though.

not to mention, a charger forces more air into the motor, with a truck that gets its oil from its fuel, more air= more fuel. how are you coming out on top when you have to richen up the needles to get the corect air/ fuel mix.

well, I don't think you would be allowed to race with one... so fuel consumption probably isn't a worry. I think getting up to 27% more power could be a big + though... plus it looks cool!

He's not talking about fuel consumption. What he is talking about, is basically what I had mentioned. When the Super Charger is turning at high RPM, it is forcing more air into the engine. This will cause the engine to run lean. If you richen the needles up, to keep it from running too lean (and burning up the engine), it will negate the effects of the Super Charger.
We have to keep in mind, these engines are made to run on an ideal Air/Fuel Mixture. Once that Air Fuel mixture is met, there really isn't much you can do to make them run better (Short of upping the Nitro Content). If you add more air (What a Supercharger does), you HAVE to add more fuel, to get that optimum Air/Fuel mixture.
If the "optimum" misture is 1 part fuel to 5 parts air, and you boost the air to 10 parts, you will be DANGEROUSLY lean, unless you up the fuel to 2 parts. Simple Fractional math, 1:5 = 2:10
