I love the new RC10B4.1 Worlds Car, and that will probably be my first buggy purchase since 1990, but I have to ask, does anyone know anything about the ARRMA ADX-10? I'm really intrigued by this company. Their design is just radical, and the ADX-10 looks great (but I would prefer my own paint job). I just can't find any reviews, not even on good ole Big Squid!

It does look like the ARRMA ADX-10 is shipping... So I'd expect reviews VERY soon. I wasn't even aware it was shipping until just now, so I'm not sure they are really out there just yet.

I know Brian and Cubby have review a couple ARRMA vehicles and really liked them. The design is pretty wicked, and out of the box they come with some pretty sweet features (lipo ready esc, 12T brushed motor, funky 2.4GHZ radio system). Almost all of their vehicles are based on the same frame/design so I expect similar things from all of the ARRMA stuff.

I personally have an ARRMA Granite monster truck. I did the unboxing on the forums a month or two ago. The Granite... Well, mine was a lemon out of the box. I had some major diff issues that ended up causing both rear hubs to spin. Just not a good situation. Had maybe 10 minutes of drive time. I have a few friends who have them, and love them though. I'm notorious for being the BSRC guy with the WORST luck.

You're going to get a ton more tune-a-bility and performance out of the 10B4.1 IMHO. If that's what you're looking for, I'd probably stay the course. If you're looking for the buggy experience again, but not really competition level, the ADX is a solid choice. I'd also recommend the ECX Boost. It's a great entry-level 2WD buggy, and with a few mods it can be a lot of fun and semi-competitive.

Put the Castle SCT combo in my XXX SCT, the think flies now. havent' tried it at the track yet, but I'm sure it's going to be plenty fast. It wheelies down the street.

Radio, FLY SKY GT3B? Great radio, Like $40 or so, receivers are $7, has ABS, very adjustable, takes some figuring out cuz the instructions are in Engrish as it's a Chinese company, you'll have to look up the manual online cuz it doesn't come with it, but with some forum help and youtube tutorials, you can figure it out, I had to reverse the throttle channel, worked better once I figured that out.

Most of the batteries from Hobbypartz are pretty good, Iv'e tried sky lipo and blue lipo, I'd try Gens but they're always out of stock, most of the charger are good too there, I went with a thunder AC6? $60. There are differnt versions, mostly varies on what kind of wires and connectors it comes with. For the bats, I like to get the higest C they have in stock, hard case, usually 40C, 4400 mah or higher, 2S

Hope this helps.

It helps immensely Adam (that's my name too!). Thanks so much everyone. I just nodded off sitting on the couch. I need to go to sleep. Look forward to reading everyone's responses tomorrow.

Sorry folks, and thanks again!

I've got some friends running the AC6 and seem to really like it. Built in power supply which is really nice, too. Adam makes a good point here about lipos. With the Sidewinder combo, you're going to want a good C rating (30-40C at least). Sky lipos are fine and usually in stock, because the Gens Ace are almost never. Hard case is what I prefer as well, and at least 4000mah. I run 5000mah in my Blitz and get awesome run times with that motor/esc combo.

If the charger was red in color i would say that is the checkpoint charger. It's a good solid charger that is basically an updated version of the old duratrax ICE chargers.

As for the radio, take a look at the bigsquidrc 2.4GHz radio shootout. Also, with just about everyone running 2.4GHz now days, it leaves the old 75 MHz band pretty much wide open. Not too many frequency conflicts any more. So you may be able to find and old FM radio with lots of features for next to nothing as everyone is/has moved to 2.4GHz. Stay away from 27 MHz because of all the old traxxas radios still in use.

It wasn't checkpoint. I hadn't heard of the brand before. But, I saw two different guys using it, and they knew what they were doing (I don't anymore ;)

I want 2.4 GHz. I currently have Rustler XL-5 electronics, including an old school radio. I want something newer...

I'm starting to feel the scotch creeeeeeep up on me. I should be off as well. Make sure you come back and let us know how the Sidewinder combo was, what radio you went with, and what's charging your new batteries... Thanks for the kind words and supporting BSRC! Have a great night everyone!
I'll give out another piece of advice for a guy on a budget. Check out Google/YouTube for videos or tutorials on how to turn an old PC or Server power supply into a power supply for RC chargers. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can score a killer power supply for super cheap (I begged craigs_asylum for mine).
yours still working OK

I have a friend melt a muchmore powerblock trying to pull 60+ amps.

Adam, here are some links. And the radio is 2.4 because that is the only way to go.

Radio
http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html
on sale for $39.99, free shipping, they ship fast too. these go out of stock so you might want to jump on it if you decide to get one.

Chargers
Thunder AC680
http://www.hobbypartz.com/73p-ac680-accharger.html
On sale for $55, but it's out of stock at the moment. I have this and I like it.

Thunder AC6
http://www.hobbypartz.com/73p-ac680-accharger.html
Slightly older version, but almost the same thing. In stock, $45

Thunder T6 Multi-Lipo
http://www.hobbypartz.com/75p-t6-multi-charger.html
charger 4 batteries, but only has a DC input, $88, out of stock

Battery
Blue Lipo 3300mah 30C
http://www.hobbypartz.com/83p-3300mah-2 ... c-car.html
the only hardcase in stock right now. Bigger capacity and 40C would be better, but these aren't bad for $22

They restock stuff pretty often, but it's rare to find all the things you want in stock at the same time. You may already know this, but incase you don't, you usually charge Lipos according to capacity, so a 5000mah pack you'd charge at 5.0 amps, a 4000mah pack at 4.0amps and a 3300mah pack at 3.3amps. At least that's how I understand it. however, my first charge I accidently did a 3300mah pack at 5.0 amps. It didn't get hot or explode, but maybe it was hard on the pack.

I would also suggest a Jigs Up soldering block because you'll probably want to change connectors on the batteries. BSRC did a review on it so of course, I had to buy one, I love it.

I just remembered, the charger was the Duratrax Onyx. Any particular model you recommend?

Thanks!
