Anyone looking to set up something and do some drifting? I have an RS4 that's getting some suspension stuff and the tires...

If anyone's interested let me know. I'm right in Oak lawn.

I went out to torrence a couple weeks ago to see the drag races...Seems like there's some good drifters out there...Although I don't think it was intentional.

I have the RS4 with the Stage D Drift Kit. I really had a hard time keeping a drift gonig.. I think I'm getting way too much traction, even from the drift tires... I was going to go PVC, but just haven't had the time.

What type of tires do you use?

I know the reason I haven't driven the car in a while is because the last time I did, I ripped 2 tires right off the rims!

Right now it's on some crappy firm tires...Nothing much.

I'm gonna look into those yokomos with the plastic ring in the middle...They are supposed to be great.

I dojn't know why your car does that...I've see videos of the stage-d working perfect.

I can even get this thing to drift on the stock hpi tires...and they are kinda soft too. You need some good initial speed, and keep on the throttle. Most of the tim you dont have to countersteer...Just keep on the gas and let it steer straight, and it will slide nicely.

part of the reason the car probably does it, is I'm just not too good at it.
I don't have much time to practice. =\

Are you running nitro or electric? I have heard that the electrics are much easier.

Bone stock nitro car.

I'm not saying I'm any good at it, but it will do it if you try. Turning around on my street I can get it sideways and drift it around the sewer cap.

I guess it helps when the street is cold too. :)

hey im new to this forum and i was thinking about getting a nitro on-road touring car and i narrowed my choices to either a hpi nitro 3 18ss or a nitro 3 evo. The thing is, i planned on installing the Stage D kit on it but on the Stage D webpage it says---
"Conversion notes: The Stage-D Conversion Set is an upgrade for the HPI Nitro RS4 3 Evo Kit. Standard Nitro RS4 3 cars can be upgraded, #86038 2 speed transmission must be used. Hump receiver battery pack required, not included in the kit."

So what my real question is what would it take to put the Stage D kit onto a Nitro 3 18SS?

Thanks for any help!

Well I don't know for sure, but you could probably call HPI and find out. One of the reasons they list those vehicles, is because you need parts from the original vehicle and from the Drift Kit to make the new drift car. The Kit moves the engine to the center along with some other stuff, and that bigger motor might night fit.
