Welcome back.... I have to say, I had a passing thought that you were one in the same, but that is hindsight.
Your knowledge of R/C is more than welcome here, but please try to keep things suitable for all ages. Keep in mind, what may be ok to "Your kids" may not be acceptable to someone elses kids.
One of the bigger problems that "we" had, was the complete disrespect for certain Brands. Sure, some brands are better than others, but for kids entering the hobby, sometimes the lower grade/lower price brands are the way to start in the hobby.
Perfect example, the Duratrax Evader, is based off of an old model Losi. Because of this, the price can be kept down while still providing a decent product. Is the Losi XXXT a better truck than the Losi XT? Of course. Was the Losi XT one of the better truck in it's day? Yes.
While Losi is upgrading their old platform, and making adjustments to make the original better, Duratrax puts out a truck that is very similar to the older style. Will it be as competitive as the newer Losi's and Associated's? No, But will it be a good starter for new people to RC? Yes.
Not every one is hardcore into racing, so whatever product bring them enjoyment, is a good choice. My first "Hobby quality" RC was a Traxxas Rustler. It was in NO WAY the best truck, but the fun that it brought, led me to the trucks/cars/Buggy I own now.
Let's continue to keep this forum enjoyable for all, and informative for those who are seeking a little help.
Again, Welcome back
