Horizon Hobby At The 2017 Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo

To open up our coverage of the 2017 Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo we dropped by the Horizon Hobby booth. The Horizon crew was located right next to our booth and was filled with all the latest and greatest in hobby gear.

In addition to a normal style booth, Horizon also had a pretty trick try-me area. The try-me area was set-up to showcase rock and scale crawlers from ECX, Losi, and Vaterra. Filled with dirt and rocks, the Horizon crawling area was busy both days of the show. We saw hundreds of people new to the hobby try their hand at rock crawling, with nearly all of them walking away with a terrific smile on their face.

Inside the Horizon booth we got a chance to play with the new Spektrum DX5C transmitter. The DX5C is absolutely loaded with features perfect for an upgrade radio, but has a price point that pretty much everyone can afford.

We also got a chance to check out the UMX Vapor Lite airplane. This is one of the latest airplanes from Horizon and was so small and lightweight that it could be flown virtually anywhere. Also in the air section, we got to man handle the new Revolution Inveso drone. The Inveso has a super low price point of $39, yet has numerous features found on much more expensive quads.

Surface products are of course our main concern at Big Squid, and the Horizon booth did not disappoint. From the previously mentioned rock crawlers, all the way up to the giant Losi 1/5th scale monster truck, Horizon had a huge part of their product line-up on display for consumers to drool over.

We would like to formally thank Horizon Hobby for letting us spend a bunch of time in their booth, as well as spending extra time with us going over numerous new products. We had a blast hanging out with them and can’t wait to see them at the next big event. To learn more about Horizon Hobby, hit up This Link on BigSquidRC.
