The HPI Apache C1 is starting to create a buzz. This first pic is with Vaughn Gittin Jr. looking ready to get his bash on! It looks like a totally new re-design 4wd 1/10th 1/8 scale buggy. Turning comments on this post.. what’s everyone think??
update: Here is what we know so far…
It’s 1/8th scale, 4WD, and Flux Powered! (Yeah!) 1/8 scale electronics, and will come with a 2.4Ghz system!
We have two more pictures after the break! Hit the Read More!
And here’s a shot with Falken Porsche GT3 RSR Team Driver Driver Bryan Sellers checking it out!

Awesome. Maybe this platform will be the long awaited Blitz 4×4 as well? Gonna be a tough decision between this and the Axial EXO, a new class is born, can’t wait for the reviews to see how they match up.
Also, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOH OOOOOOOOOOOH OOOOOOH!
Not going to be the blitz 4×4, this is 1/8th scale
It’s a 1/8 scale buggy. Most 1/10 scale Short Course trucks have the same chassis dimensions of 1/8 scale buggies. See all the various “Backslash” projects that take Traxxas Slashes and such and turn them into 1/8 scale buggies. Ex: http://www.ultimatetraxxas.com/projects/backslash/
Looks good. Are those HPI Vorza shocks?
From the mouth of the recent HPI fanboy, gotta side with Cubby here. It looks…awkward. I wasn’t crazy for the EXO either. Maybe it is just these pictures that make if look funny. I’m not sure. Although,, if they bend this into a Blitz 4×4 down the road, if be a fan. Let’s just pray the battery box is better than the mini trophey truck
. And she said………
looking at the shock style and overall size i would say its based off a vorza which would be nice be of the pure power that buggy has
Christmas will be hot, APACHE, EXO….. which brand will release the next desert buggy ? Is this the new trend for 2012 ?
super good news
I am very sure Traxxas may come up with something buggy as well … As for the Apache: Looks awesome!
Yeah – 1st Axial now HPI,…seems to be a new class is born.
Look’s like it has Flux-Brushless-System, and 4WD.
what’s next????
I love the scale realism. Hope its not a pain to work on like the 1/12th scale Baja truck. I still think I would rock the Axial rig first.
I hope the spare tire is real!
I would only assume that the spare is functional. As is the spare on the mini trophy. Looks like a new class will be born. Hopefully traxxas jumps on this wagon as well. there behind schedule.
looks pretty cool
This will never induce a new racing class. There is no need for it. SC trucks rule the “scale” racing scene. 1/8 scale is ruled by the race buggys both electric and nitro. I just don’t see this taking off at all…
