Good Morning Squid Fans! As you have of heard, we were at the iHobby Expo in Cleveland last week and over the weekend. There are plenty more posts to come for that. We actually had most of the mystery vehicles in our booth, and gave them away during our demos!
It’s time for week 9 contest entries!! Keeping you guys on your toes this time! We are going to give you 8 hours to get your entries in! You have till 9pm cst tonight to enter!
If you have not heard, we are giving away a Dozen Mystery Vehicles! One a Week for 12 weeks! The vehicles may by nitro or electric and are from the following companies: ARRMA RC, Team Durango, Duratrax, and Thunder Tiger!
To ENTER, in the comments below, mention something, anything about iHobby. Did you catch the live feeds? Did you enjoy the lovely ladies? Did you make it out to the show and meet us? Did you not make the show, because you were WAY to far away? What City/State would you want the show to be in?

Because of shipping issues, this contest is limited to the continental United States Only. Sorry. Getting radio and other equipment overseas and across boarders lately just isn’t that easy any more, and costly.

I wish I could have made it out there. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and we never have any good hobby expos other than train expos.

I wish I could have gone to iHobby, but my father-in-law had his RC offroad track grand opening this last weekend here in Central Texas. Thanks for the great updates from the show BigSquidRC.
I would have been at iHobby if my Gulfstream IV was not in the shop for new whaleskin and baby seal fur seat covers. I hope the BSRC crew had fun.
I would love to go to iHobby, but I would have a hard time justifying the trip to the family.
I am on the East Coast so wasn’t able to make it but a having one on the East Coast would be awesome. I would defintely try and make one.
I watched your I-hobby live feed from your both on friday for a few minutes, but only seen the girls a couple times and some people throwing garbage away. LOL If it wasn’t for bigsquidrc I wouldn,t have seen anything.

I was there! Had a rockin time w/ the Big Squid crew. Nice job with the demos, its good to see somone put those cars threw the paces like we bash at home! Need more girls next time!

Tried out the live feed of iHobby. Was pretty cool feature to have. Would like to see the expo come to Portland Oregon. Looks like it would be a cool show to attend.

Wish I could have made it out to iHobby. Would be great to have the chance to see so many kits in person that we just don’t have the opportunity to see out our local shops in today’s internet age.
Red Cat’s S-TRYK-R looks interesting. Next year send iHobby to Northern Virginia.
Did not get to see the show unfortunately, since I live in so Cal.looked awesome though! A good thing for the rc community.
Sadly no iHobby show for me…wish I could. I would love to see a RC show in Minnesota…I would hit that up for sure!
The only stuff I saw about iHobby was whatever was posted on Bigsquid.com. I live too far away to attend. Feel free to give me a new basher though!
IHobby was too far away to go to, but something closer like Chicago would make it a bit easier. Looked like there were lots of great new products.

Why are the Hobby expos always up north? I mean isn’t the point of a convention is to get away from the drudgery and get to some exciting destination like Vegas, or down here in Florida like Orlando or Miami? Why Ohio?

I wasnt able to physically be at the show, but with BigSquid’s live feed it made me feel like I was THERE!!! I loved seeing all the new products within our industry and seeing the booth ladies!! I really wish I could have gone to the event…. iHobby needs to come to the west coast! Cant wait to get my hands on the new Silverado true scale body and see how it bashes and get a Durango one day…. Ive never had a Durango but have always wanted one!! Thanks for all your hard work covering the show BigSquid!!

IHOBBY in cleveland, living in the Dallas Texas area ment a long drive and my wheels would not have lasted, plus I have only 3 LIPO’s, my charge cord is not that long.
Super lame the big names don’t come out to support the hobby. You can guarantee they lost a few customers that didn’t get to see their products first hand.
It was great that IHobby came to my hometown. We had some last minute family issues and couldn’t make it this year. I will definetly look forward to it coming here again! The live stream from bigsquid was awesome.
Missed out on Ihobby again. I’ll try to make it next year. I’m in OK but would travel to KC or Dallas.

I liked the new soldering stations you guy’s posted up and also the new red cat RC’s look pretty neat also.
Definitely needs to come back to Chicago. Also the manufacturers need to support the show like they did back in the 90′s. At one show I was walking behind Brian Kinwald as he was looking around. Many of the top racers were there like Joel Johnson and Master Masami I think even showed up to one. I talked with Eustace Moore Jr of MIP and tried to convince him to make CVD’s for the Traxxas Blue Eagle back when Traxxas still had a race division. I talked with Bolink trying to get setup advice for a Super Sport and getting the tweak corrected. The manufactures now a just a handful of who showed before. With the news that Traxxas and HPI were not there is telling. There may not be an iHobby show for 2014 if attendance like this continues.
I’m looking forward to building a Morgan 3 Wheeler off of Redcat’s new creation…

I enjoyed your coverage of I-Hobby. Hopefully there will be more coverage as the week goes on. I also checked out the live feed for a few moments. I think on of those girls might have back problems, because she kept shifting foot to foot. Have her call my chiropractor. He’s awesome.

I wish i was closer to the show. I really like some of the scales that aren’t to popular like the 1/8 electric rtr truggys and 1/10 4wd buggys.
I have to say, that redcat tricycle thingy is awesome. I can see me building a couple wild projects with one as a starter.
Got back into the hobby again by going to iHobby in Chicago. The crafts area was awesome for the kids and even the wife enjoyed the show. The years we went, the show seemed to have great attendance. I would like to know how it went in Ohio as far as attendance numbers. Please move it back to Chicago to help us in the area keep interest in this hobby going.

Couldn’t make the show because live in CA. A show in Orange County or LA would be great. Called HPI today and they acknowledged Savage Flux HP wheels have poor design & their solution is red loctite. With service/solutions like that not surprised HPI doesn’t support these events.

I couldn’t go to I hobby it was to far away for me. How about bringing one to St. Louis MO. Least that would only be a 2 hour drive for me. Thanks BSRC for the chance to win.

I love rc! Checking out live feeds from the show lets me check out all the new stuff in the hobby. They should have IHobby in Boise, Idaho. I would for sure make that!

I have to say, I was underwhelmed with the new product announcements. I feel like there have been more interesting things shown at previous iHobby shows. It might also be that there was nothing (covered here anyway) in smaller scales (18th or smaller).
I checked out the live feeds and the pictures. What i enjoy about ihobby is looking at the latest in rc, not to mention the ladies at the expos. I couldn’t attend i live to far away i live in the west coast California. Well at least we have RCX here in california most of the time.
Do to family last minute issues we couldn’t make the show. My husband is trying to find a truck or buggy for our daughter so they can race together. That was really great that a large hobby event was right in our backyard. I hope you enjoyed your stay while you were here!

wow traxxas and hpi skipped the expo??? maybe hpi wanted to dodge any questions about their 1/8th scale gas engine? and doesnt traxxas want to show off their new rally car? was that wicked cool dakar hummer slash body released yet? maybe traxxas was looking to avoid any issues with booth attendants not getting paid?
where was kyosho? i am totally looking forward to the 1/7 scorpion buggy, cant get enough pics and info, gorgeous vehicle. also gotta mention the miniz brushless…

unfortunately i live in massachusetts, the closest thing i can get to a real rc hobby expo is a model train show. where vendors also sell cheap ’3.5′ channel helis and doll house stuff. yay! i know a few new englanders that would go to an expo around these parts.
