For Bashers, By Bashers!
Recent Reviews

It’s time for week 8 contest entries!! Only a few more weeks left in the Mystery Vehicle Contest! If you haven’t won yet, what are you waiting for?

If you have not heard, we are giving away a Dozen Mystery Vehicles! One a Week for the next 12 weeks! The vehicles may by nitro or electric and are from the following companies: ARRMA RC, Team Durango, Duratrax, and Thunder Tiger!

Last week we heard who your favorite companies were. There were some really good responses in there! This week, we want to know what is your favorite type of vehicle. Are you a drifter? Monster Trucks all the way? You can even mention a scale. Tell us what you like, and why in the comments and you will be entered!

Example: I really like 1/36 Scale monster trucks, my desktop monster truck pencil course rocks!

ALL entries must be in by 8pm cst. Monday October 8th. And we will announce a winner at 10pm CST. Don’t worry, the winner will still be random from all valid entries.

Because of shipping issues, this contest is limited to the continental United States Only. Sorry. Getting radio and other equipment overseas and across boarders lately just isn’t that easy any more, and costly.

    Winner

  11. Todd K's mouth spewed forth:

1/10 shortcourse. They look more scale (like a real truck) than a buggy or a truggy and are a blast to drive. Also the ones built off the 1/8 buggy platform are very durable.

  12. Kevin Martin said:

I have tons of fun with my 1/10th scale Monster Trucks and Short Course trucks but I think my new addiction is 1/10th scale “scalers”. I have found that it can be just as much fun going slow crawling and trailing as it can be doing 50+mph with a race truck :)

  13. sam s opened their gaping maw and spake:

I like 1/10 Short course buggy. I’m counting the Axial Exo Terra as one to. They look cool they function well and are fast. Forget your little spaceship buggies I’ll take an Exo Terra, SC10B, or XXX-SCB over those any day. A close second though is 1/8 truggies because LETS BASH!!!

  14. Dave opened their gaping maw and spake:

Definitely 1/10 and 1/8 Monster Trucks! You can drive them anywhere, they look cool, and their lots of fun to drive.

I like 1/16th scale 4WD buggies because they are capable on a 1/10th track but don’t take a lot of space.

  20. Jerry said:

I like 1/8th scale best. They seem to be great for bashing which is what I do. I have a monster truck and sc truck and each are great bashers and fun.

  21. kevin patrick said:

1/8 e buggies an truggies, fast as you want with the strenght to take the hits. An they fly real well.

  22. Sean Fredericks proclaimed on this day:

Im a offroad guy at heart. Ive raced 1/10 scale since I was 12yrs old.
For the last couple years, I have been racing a Traxxas Slash 2wd and a Custom Works Rocket. They are vehicles from two different worlds, but I wouldnt change that for anything. The Traxxas Slash is such a well built truck that can take anything you put it through. They are so versatile that we turned them into a EDM / MDM modified. That class has BLOWN up. Its taken off so much, that its put a few other classes out to the pasture.
Now for my Custom Works Rocket (late model), so very sensitive to track conditions. A very technical vehicle. This car makes you actually drive it. We run a spec tire and motor with this class. I wouldnt change this at all either. Each lap around the track is different. Its taken me a little over a year to really learn how to handle it, but I finally conquered it this summer.
Both the Slash and Rocket have both earned me multiple wins. Ive always been an Associated guy, but I can say that Ive added Traxxas and Custom Works to that statement.

  25. Joey said this nonsense:

I’m a monster truck guy. Ever since the T-Maxx came out I’ve been hooked on em. The ability to go anywhere and those huge monster jumps. Nothing like seeing a 10lb. truck flying at your face.

  26. Mike opened their gaping maw and spake:

1/10 scale monster trucks, Tamiya Clod Busters to be exact.

  27. BrendonP attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

1/8 scale monster trucks like my Savage X 4.6. So I can stomp all the little Traxxas 1/16th scales.

i,ll take any r/c if its free !!!! big squid rocks

  31. Eddie F commented thusly:

Right now, I’m really enjoying 1/10 2wd buggies. I have an Associated B4.1 Worlds Edition and it is a blast to drive on the track. When I want to bash, I have a Losi 8ight-E 2.0 that is another level of fun.

  32. Mike D. said:

i like 1/8 nitro & electric buggy and also like short course 2wd & 4×4

  33. John's mouth spewed forth:

I really like 1/10 scale monster trucks because they are the best. And they are cheaper than 1/8.

  43. Isaiah Rosencrans said this nonsense:

I like 1/8th buggies because they are durable as heck, fast and cool to race around as a basher or racer.

  44. Steve C broke a vow of silence to say:

For me the most fun I have is with the tamiya re released kits like the hornets and lunch boxes and stuff.. second is the scale 4×4 trucks i like them they are fun to trek with and trail run in the mountains with.

  45. fennec proclaimed on this day:

I have recently switched purely to 2/1th scale rc hovercrafts. The 2/1 means that they are double the size of full size hovercrafts. I usually run 9800 can 2 million Kv brushless but have recently started getting into nitro too. The only downside I see to this area of the hobby is that the hovercrafts occasionally become filled with eels, but it’s really just a minor nuisance.

  46. isaac said:

Monster trucks started the rc craze and are the funnest, they can go anywhere! no monster trucks, no rc

  47. Satan commented thusly:

    I love short course trucks!!!

I love monster trucks but would love to win something different.

  49. multi-bash said this nonsense:

    I love all my RC cars in different ways;
1/10 drift car, I love the scale and community!
1/10 SLASH, I love bashing this thing to a pulp, and only having to put $7 into it on a “bad” day
1/18 MRC Pro, as with my drift, I love the scale! Watching the suspension articulate is awesome!
1/24 Mini losi rally, I don’t love this car. It’s fun for about 3 minutes at a time…

  50. C Ward opened their gaping maw and spake:

1/8 + brushless + massive voltage + offroad is pretty much it.
Mini 8ight is pretty close second! That thing is so much fun and tough as nails.

  51. Stephen Gerfen broke a vow of silence to say:

  54. chaz l.'s mouth spewed forth:

Like my truggy but i know i would love it 1000 times more if it was electric. Too bad electric truggy isn’t a class @ my track. Btw even if it isn’t “scale” they are some of the best looking vehicles out there.

  55. Evan attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

I like custome built 1/7 scale drag racing turbine semis, they sound awesome, go wicked fast and put everything else around to shame.

  56. Sean Gardner attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

Im a real Big fan of monster trucks, they are all purpose to me. With my emaxx I can go to the track with some adjustments and differnt tires and run some laps and get good air at the same time. I can put on my 40 series trenchers and tear up taller grass and dirt for backyard bashing. Last if my buddies are parking lot racing I can put on the road rage tires and again make it street friendly I can keep with if not beat the other RCS with lcg. When it comes down to it all I really love about any crawl/fast aggressive type of rc.

  57. jeffro commented thusly:

I like 1/8 – 1/10 monster truck. ERBE and MT4 G3 are my favs. Tons of power and speed are the best, mang!

1/10th scale monster trucks and truggies. It has to stand up to street bashing and jumping!

  64. Justin P opened their gaping maw and spake:

I’ve only driven a 1/10th SC but I’ve seen the 1/5th buggies and those look like they’d be a LOT of fun! Although a bit expensive. Hoping my next purchase will be a 1/10th buggy.

  65. lbenton commented thusly:

I like a good monster truck, with a hot brushless setup they run like a brick with a jet pack. May not be the most control, but a lot of fun ;)

  66. Geoff's mouth spewed forth:

I like it all 1/10 buggy & truck that’s all I have ever had but 1/5 scale trucks just look so bad A

I like the 1/10th scale monster trucks…its nice to be able to tame the jungle

  70. Jason Montgomery broke a vow of silence to say:

My interests have changed over the years, but at the moment I really like 1/8 truggies the best. I like the way truggies look, but never owned one. I have had the MT4 G3 and loved it as a truggy/buggy based monster truck. I think 1/8 buggy is probably the best of all worlds. Many many tire options, great durability, can be raced or bashed, Look awesome and with 4wd can handle lots of different terrain.

  71. Megan proclaimed on this day:

1/10 stadium trucks. Simple and compact but large enough to still be a fun size.

  72. Steve S attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

  73. Duston15 said:

I started in the 1/10 scale with drift, buggy, and Monster truck. However I got going to SCT and 8th scale has been Much more fun. Then a 7th scale on road has been crazy fun! However 1/8 scale monster truck I find to be the best for just all around bashing….so 1/8th scale monster truck I feel is the best

woot woot, give me the loot

  76. Jonathon said:

I love 1/10th Scale monster trucks. They are fun to drive over the terrain where I live and it’s great to go out with my buddies and find new place to bash the trucks!

  77. Buck-O said:

1/10 buggies have always been my thing. Even owned a stadium truck once. But for all the reasons I like the open wheelers for their precision and speed, they make tight clean racing difficult. Since I’ve been driving my buddies Short Course truck lately, I’m really liking the whole rubbing fenders aspect of racing. I’m thinking that when time and finances permit, I might consider a 22SCT, or get a XXX roller on the cheap, considering I still have a bunch of XXX and XX transmission parts left over that may bet the better way to go. HydraDrive equipped XXX SCT?

  78. Kraisorn's mouth spewed forth:

Scale vehicles are awesome for the veteran RC’er, but the best vehicle of all for the newcomer whether it be a racer or basher is the SCT. Some scale realism and familiarity to the real vehicles, good entry price, and full bumpers and covered wheels for some honest to goodness rubbing while racing or bashing. Where was the SCT when I had my Blackfoot?

  79. Eric Leinicke attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

I would love to win something for a change!

  80. jon tet proclaimed on this day:

monster truck, gets most wheel time, no question about it. primary thrash and bash spots are construction sites and yards/fields with grass, also known the monsters natural territory. now i wonder to go there because its fun to bash with an emaxx, or because my emaxx is most fun at those places?

must mention how as time goes on, im doing more and more trail running and hill climbing with my overpowered scx10 though…

my ‘favorite’ has always been both scale and solid axle, the old clods were what first got my attention.

  81. Marshall attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

The 1/10th scale Short Course truck is what brought me back into the hobby after 25 years. What is great now is how after all this time bashing around a vacant lot or in a park, any where their is dirt several hours of fun can be had, and since we are now RV’rs running the truck seems to always bring someone out of their RV for some conversation. They always want to know, “how can it go that fast?”

  82. Zach B opened their gaping maw and spake:

I like 1/10th 2wd monster trucks. They are cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and can still take a good licking and keep on flying!

  83. Thomas Rodriguez said:

1/10 SCTs love to race with my club and friends.

  84. Steven G said:

My favorite is 1/8 scale e-truggy followed by 1/8 scale e-buggy followed by 1/10 scale 2wd buggy and finally 1/10 scale 2wd SC.

my favorite at this moment is 1/5 monster truck. bashing with gas rocks.

  87. Mr. Wolf broke a vow of silence to say:

1/10 scalers. Coolest truck I got. Their scale, their easy to get parts for, and their easy to work on. But, that’s my opinion. :D

  88. Is this real? proclaimed on this day:

Does it not seem fishy to anyone else that we never actually see who the winner is or that they are even spoken of? Are we REALLY signing up to win something or are we just posting for Big Squids entertainment? Just sayin!!

  89. Jim said:

Right now my favorite class is Short Course, followed real close by 1:10 Buggy. Been a racer at heart since the late 80′s. So I will always have a soft spot for buggies!

  99. Tom Frankito said this nonsense:

I like SCT 1/10. I love the off road course and am so lucky that I have 5 outdoor tracks and 4 indoor tracks all with in a 1 hour drive. Once I started to race driving around my yard and street just doesn’t do it for me anymore.

  100. Natalie Frankito said:

I like the 1/8 nitro truggy’s. The first time i saw them they were crazy. I asked my husband how come he didn’t get one of those instead of the shortcourse truck. He said look at the bank account!

  101. Craig T commented thusly:

Nitro monster trucks for me! The bigger the better. No groomed track needed but if one is available, switch tires, fine tune the suspension and hang on!

  104. J. Little opened their gaping maw and spake:

I like the monster tucks (1/10) for bashing aroumd the yard, but I am working on getting into short course trucks since my father has a new track in his back yard…This means i gotta learn to drive not just go balls out and hit/destroy evenything i run over.
