The Duratrax VW Baja Bug Review

At a visit to Hobbico headquarters several months ago, I got a sneak peak of what some of their upcoming lineup was going to be. I got to see the ARRMA brand, the new Evader Brushless, and finally the VW Baja Bug. Everything I saw had a unique quality that made it special, and for the Baja it was the of course the body and style. Duratrax was breaking away from their mold and trying something a little different. Along with the VW license came their new ‘Get Dirty’ attitude. Did they deliver? Does the VW break the mold enough to get more people to turn some heads? Keep reading to find out..

Here’s a second official video from  DuraTrax showing off their new VW Baja Bug. We are really looking forward to getting behind the wheel on this one. Bring on the mud!

Check out the Duratrax Website for more details.

Here’s the official video from Hobbico about the Duratrax VW Baja Bug. This thing looks like a total hoot!

Check out the Duratrax Website for the lowdown.

Here’s something cool from Pro-Line.  A Volkswagen Bug body that actually has fenders on it.  How novel.  It actually casts a much different attitude than all the fenderless beetle bodies that populate the alternative-style short course landscape.  This new vision of an old body is officially licensed by Volkswagen, so you can expect all the decals necessary to replicate the look of the real thing, logos and all.  A spoiler with mounting hardware, window masks, and overspray film are also included.  The Volkswagen Full Fender Baja Bug body is available now at a list price of $39.95.  Unfortunately it’s only made to fit the Slash and Slash 4×4 right now.

Check out the Pro-Line website for more info.
