It’s awesome to see Pro-Line coming out with some new original bodies! Their latest is the Desert Militia for the Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo. Similar to their Rat Rod body, the Desert Militia body is going to have people dusting off their 1/16th scales and show them off with a whole new look! I can’t wait to see the hardcore scale guys throwing real light bars on the roof!
Pro-Line caused a serious stir among the rc community earlier in the week when they teased a picture of their upcoming Rat Rod body for the Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo. It was cool to see Pro-Line take a small step from their normal stuff and put out such a cool scale looking body. Painting the tires to look like white walls is a great, quick and easy step to really bringing the whole look together. We are looking forward to getting our hands on this body, and also have our fingers crossed that Pro-Line produces a similar body in other scales!

2012 is the 30th anniversary year for Pro-Line and no doubt they made it epic. From giving away tons of product in various contests, to their uber new Slash Pro 2 gear, to their new scale and racing products, they knocked it out of the park in 2012. Below is a short video that the Pro-Line team worked up to list some of their big wins in 2012, give it a watch.

Had to do something different with this one so here goes…. I wanted something that was easy enough that anyone could do it with some basic household items and a little imagination. The only paints used are common rattle can paints available at any local hardware store or even Wal-Mart. No Airbrush’s … No Vinyl cutters just run of the mill stuff…

Alumicraft RC aren’t the only ones making aluminum bodies for 1/5 scalers. Race Car Prototypes, which is a company known more for making full scale race car bodies, is releasing their own aluminum body, which you can see to the left right (sorry, I was writing this post while looking in a mirror) here. But the one that caught my eye is their rally body seen above. It appears to be based on a full scale body that they designed for All German Motorsports, it’s a BMW X6 trophy truck.
Pro-Line releases more BullDog 2012 bodies! The Team Associated RC8.2E, RC8T, and Kyosho MP9 get released from the pound.
A steeper front windshield to create more down force for the front wheels, increased high-speed stability by raising the roof ridges, and changes to the rear of the roof and addition of fins to create a more stable air flow over the body.
Phat Bodies RC of the UK have released a 1/16 scale conversion kit for the Team Associated B4 and B4.1. In the kit, you get all of the parts you need to fit a 380 motor, a shortened chassis, shock towers, and awesome body and wing, and a handful of hardware. This is NOT a complete kit, because some DIY is required to make the car as well, and you will also need a donor car. It’s been said that this is a strong rival for the losi mini 8ight, new racing class anyone?
Head over to the Phat Bodies website to order one, and to see exactly how to make one.
JConcepts has a few new releases today. This one is for the fans of the ol’ bow-tie, it’s a short course version of the new 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500. The body is made to fit all of the following trucks: Slash, Slash 4×4, SC10, SC10 4×4, XXX-SCT and TEN-SCTE. It’s one of JConcepts’ Hi-Flow bodies, so it has a ton of little vents that can be cut or reamed out to reduce the parachute effect that is so prevalent on SCTs. You’ll also find the requisite decals, window masks and other stuff associated with new bodies.
The 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available now with a MSRP of $42.00. Check out the JConcepts website for more info. And click past the break for what could possibly be the longest video about a RC car body ever produced.
Have a SC10 4×4? Have a messy chassis? JConcepts may have a solution to your problems. An answer to your prayers. Some meat for your potatoes. Or any other cliche you can think of. Their new over-tray for the afformentioned SC10 4×4 is made out of some crystal clear polycarbonate so its durable and ready for custom paint. It fits snugly over the 4×4′s chassis while still providing plenty of room for electronics. It also includes louvers which can be cut out for increased airflow to keep you stuff from baking.
JConcepts’ over-tray for the SC10 4×4 is available now for the low, low, INSANELY LOW price of only $17.00. Check out the JConcepts website for more info.
Team Associated have now released an electric version of their RC8.2 FT kit – the RC8.2E Factory Team. It includes a ton of shiny aluminum bling, including Big Bore hard-anodized threaded shocks with Ti-Ni coated shafts, 7075 driveshafts, 7075 steering knuckles, suspension mounts and a cool sliding motor mount for easy adjustment. To top it all off, a slick JConcepts Punisher body and Illuzion wing are included in the kit!
