PROTOform F1 Bodies
The teasing is officially over and our friends over at PROTOform have released full information on their new Formula 1 bodies. With most of the BSRC staff being big F1 fans, we have been eagerly waiting their release.

The F1-Thirteen is molded to the 2013 specifications, while the F1-Fourteen is made to look like the current generation of Formula 1 cars. Both are made from .030″ genuine Lexan and require Tamiya front wings to complete the look. An injection molded driver’s helmet is included, as is a decal sheet that features steering wheel details, seatbelts, car numbers, and a variety of helmet visor colors.

The part number for the Thirteen is #1537-30, the Fourteen is #1538-30, and they are street priced at $28. For complete details hit up the official PROTOform Website.

PROTOform Formula 1
PROTOform has long been known for making some of the best bodies available for on-road cars, now they are teasing some new F1 bodies. If these are anything like their other products, they are sure to be the best available in both looks and performance. PROTOform Car Stand
Need a new car stand for your touring car or 12th scale pan car? The fine folks over at PROTOform have announced their latest and it looks pretty trick. Made from a tough alloy and power coated black, it makes your car easier to wrench on while making your pit spot look sano. Four rubber grommets are used to keep your car from sliding around, while four holes in the top are perfect for rebuilding shocks.

PROTOform VRS-N Body
The PROTOform crew has announced two new bodies, the VRS-N, and the PFM-12.

The 200mm VRS-N pictured above is made for 1/10th scale nitro touring cars. The VRS-N incorporates an air management system inspired by full-scale touring cars. It has a low profile in the front and uses strategically placed airflow conditioners for the ultimate in aero efficiency. It has a part number of #1539-30 and is priced at $25.

The PFM-12 is pictured in the gallery below and is made to fit 1/12 pan cars running in the new GT12 class that is blowing up in the UK right now. Using inspiration from supercars, the PFM-12 utilizes a low-slung cab-forward design to give your 12th scale excellent handling. Its part number is #1613-30 and is priced at $25

PROTOform anti-tuck body stiffeners
If you’ve done any touring car driving, you have probably experienced body tuck. If you haven’t, body tuck is when one of your buddies hits the rear of your car causing the body to get sucked into the wheel. Body tuck makes your car extremely hard to drive and can definitely ruin a good run out on the track.

PROTOform has some new Anti-Tuck Body Stiffeners to eliminate the problem. These are molded out of crystal clear Lexan and mount with three screws. The stiffeners also help to reduce unwanted body fluttering at speed. Figuring out where to drill the mounting holes on your freshly painted touring car body can be a real hassle so PROTOform has a new kit that should make it a whole lot easier. PROTOform’s new Crosshair Body Mounting Kit uses magnets to help you perfectly align and mark the holes before you drill.

PROTOform G6-T Light Weight Clear Body
PROTOform’s latest body is a lightweight version of their G6-T oval body. It is molded from lightweight .025″ genuine Lexan and is designed to give ultra-high downforce. In the picture above the G6-T sports a slick “Breaking Bad” paint job, but comes in clear so you can put your personal paint scheme on it.

PROTOform MAZDA6 GX Clear Body
When it comes to making world class racing bodies for touring cars, PROTOform is the king of the hill. Their latest body, the Mazda6 GX, is sure to win as many races as it will turn heads with its cool look.

The PROTOform Mazda6 GX is a 190mm clear Lexan body designed to fit on touring cars. It comes with details like hood air extractors, striking lines, and a signature Mazda grill. The body is fully licensed and comes with overspray protection, window masks, and a rear wing.

PROTOform Cyclone 10.0 Clear Body
The crew over at PROTOform have announced their latest oval body, the Cyclone 10.0. The Cyclone is a full 10″ wide resulting in a body good for rubber tire, loose dirt track, 4wd, and Nitro Late Model driving. For aerodynamic performance, the Cyclone features offset front fenders and skewed quarter panels on the rooftop vortex generators. The Cyclone is all about downforce, side bite, and going fast.

HPI Camaro
A lot happened while we were away covering the iHobby Expo, here are some of the more notable announcements.

PROTOform announced their latest on-road body, the G6-T. The G6-T is a 10th scale oval body with a part number of #1236-30 and a street price of $25. The press release body is shown with an A1A Car Wash paint scheme, it looks like someone at PROTOForm was as big of a fan of the Walter & Skyler White owned (and ABQ based) car wash as we were. I hear it’s under new ownership now days.

HPI Racing announced three new cars – the Sprint 2 Sport with ’69 Camaro body, the Sprint 2 Drift with Nissan 350Z body, and the Sprint 2 Sport with Nissan GT-R body. From the looks of the pictures, HPI did a great job on the scale realism of these cars. Part number for the ’69 Camaro is #106133, it has a street price of $239 and they are available right now. The 350Z has the same street price and is also available right now, its part number is #106154. The GT-R has a part number of #109300.

The crew over at MIP have been teasing their Losi SCTE to 8th scale buggy conversion for a while now. Last week they released an official picture but complete information still isn’t available. We really dig the SCTE platform and can’t wait to see what MIP has up their sleeves on this one.

Our friends over at Axial announced some awesome new Maxxis Trepador crawling/scaler tires. The part number is #AX12022 and they have a retail price of $36.

Pro-Line announced that the first 50 people to register their new Pro2 truck would be put in a drawing to win $500 worth of free tires! That is pretty cool of them and if you just bought a Pro2 it gives you a great reason to register your truck.

Upgrade RC has jumped into the rc body market with their Catalyst SCT body. Upgrade RC are known mainly for their skins, we’ll see how they do in the dog eat dog world of aftermarket bodies.

PROTOform Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
PROTOform has just announced their latest body, a 1971 Pontiac Trans Am. Once again the PROTOform crew has knocked one out of the park, the Trans Am looks awesome and it should perform quite well on your VTA racer or cul-de-sac speed machine.

With scale realism all the rage, PROTOform put lots of scale detailing into the Trans Am, examples of this are the shaker hood scoop, duck tail rear spoiler, and aggressive front beak. The Trans Am also comes with a spare nose cone just in case you crash as often as we do.

PROTOform Better Edge Sanding Drum
Whether you are working on a perfect scale machine or simply trying to get your weekend bash body to look right, getting a nice straight line with curved lexan scissors can be a pain. PROTOform has a new Better Edge Sanding Block that can help make your life easier. Its straight edge makes it easy to get a nice straight line on the bottom of your body, while its curved edges make life easier in the nooks and crannies. It can also come in handy when sanding on parts or tires.
