Pro-Line Extended Body Mounts Traxxas Revo Summit
One of our favorite innovations of the last couple of years has been the Pro-Line Thumbwasher sets. These replace traditional body clips and won’t fall off and get lost during a hard bash session. They also help keep your body from ripping out around the body post.

The Pro-Line crew has incorporated their Thumbwasher sets into their new Extended Body Mounts for the Traxxas Revo/Summit platform and for Losi SCTE and XXX-SCT/22 SCT. You can now get the benefits of the Pro-Line Thumbwashers plus extended body mounts that allow you to mount a variety of aftermarket bodies.

The Pro-Line extended body mounts for Traxxas run $14 and you can find more information Right HERE. The body mounts for Losi cost around $12 and you can get information at THIS LINK on the Pro-Line website.

TBR T-Bone Racing Extra Bumper Support
Why would you need a “rear bumper support”? If you don’t know why, then you don’t need one. However, if you are a hardcore basher you’ve already destroyed a dozen rear bumpers from demo-derby and rear-end landings and you know they aren’t cheap to replace.

T-Bone RacingT-Bone Racing (aka- TBR) has just released a new rear bumper support for the Losi XXX-SCT. The rear bumper support will help keep your stock bumper intact during even the most hardcore of bash sessions.

How much does one of these go for? Well street price is a measly $18 and you can pick one up right now off the TBR Website.

THE Pro-Line Losi XXX-SCT/SCB Front Inboard Hub Review

pro-line front hub

So we own a Losi Ten SCTE, several of them actually. We also own several Losi XXX-SCT’s and SCB’s. All good, right? Wrong. You see the SCTE uses different rims than the SCT and SCB. And… on top of that, the SCT/SCB’s use different rims on the front than they do in the rear. So while virtually all I drive/race are Losi short course vehicles, I have this ridiculously huge inventory of tires because I can’t mix them between vehicles.

Guess what? The smart guys over at Pro-Line Racing also saw this problem and addressed it. This week I’m reviewing their front inboard hub kit that allows the use of SCTE rims (and Pro-Lines Pro-Trac rims and Associated SC10 4×4 rims) on the front of the Losi XXX-SCT and SCB.

JConcepts has a few new releases today.  This one is for the fans of the ol’ bow-tie, it’s a short course version of the new 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500.  The body is made to fit all of the following trucks: Slash, Slash 4×4, SC10, SC10 4×4, XXX-SCT and TEN-SCTE.  It’s one of JConcepts’ Hi-Flow bodies, so it has a ton of little vents that can be cut or reamed out to reduce the parachute effect that is so prevalent on SCTs.  You’ll also find the requisite decals, window masks and other stuff associated with new bodies.

The 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available now with a MSRP of $42.00.  Check out the JConcepts website for more info.  And click past the break for what could possibly be the longest video about a RC car body ever produced.

I was using some box Brian left for me as a foot rest. It was a good height and sturdy, but the nasty look I got from him a few hours later means it was for something else. After some careful observation apparently it was for a review or something. So for those of you wondering what’s in the box of a Losi XXX-SCT, I thought why not share our unboxing photo’s of the Bind-n-Drive edition. That, and now that it’s out of the box, I have a place for my feet again.

Check the Losi website for more info.

Outwears has a cool new chassis shroud for your Losi XXX-SCT now available. The shroud uses hook & loop tape to attach to your chassis, covering the center area, keeping out dirt, debris, and moisture so your chassis stays clean, dry, and light. Oh, it’s available in a bunch of different colors, too!

Head on over to Outwears and check it out!

The folks over at Exotek racing have let us know that they have a new 12mm hex hub conversion for the Losi XXX-SCT and SCB vehicles! This conversion allows you to use the rear Losi hex rims on the front of your SCT or SCB. The conversion provides better steering and handling as well as the added benefit of using the same rims all the way around. The hubs and hexes are alloy with hardened steel for axles.

Make sure to check the Exotek web site for more info.

DE Racing is expanding their line of Trinidad SC wheels with a new color, fluorescent yellow.  Other than the incredibly bright color, the wheels are the same as the others in the line, with the faux beadlock style and realistic molded in details.  The Trinidad wheels come in a number of offsets specific to a lot of the different SC trucks on the market, such as the Slash, Slash 4×4, Blitz, SC10, SC10 4×4, Ten-SCTE, XXX-SCT, and a few more.

These new wheels are available now direct from the DE Racing for about $9.00 per pair.  Check out the DE Racing website for more info.

It looks like the guys over at TLR (read: Losi) have released a new Tuning Kit for the XXX-SCT and XXX-SCB. The kit offers all the parts you need to really get your XXX-SCT/B into serious competition status. Upgraded suspension arms, shock bodies, shock shafts, hardened diff balls, and rear hubs are just some of the upgrades in the kit. It will be avaliable in late May 2011 for right around $130.

Be sure to check out TLR for more details and a complete kit list.

DE Racing is jumping on the XXX-SCT bandwagon with a compatible set of their Trinidad style wheels.  They are made in the standard and ROAR legal widths and 2.2″/3″ diameter.  The Trinidads also feature a ribbed design for better strength and durability and have realistic molded in details such as lug nuts and a faux beadlock ring with bolt heads.  Right now they are only available in black, but history suggests that white wheels will also be available soon.

You can order your set now direct from DE Racing for $8.95 with free shipping in the US.  If you bug your local hobby shop enough, I’m sure they can get them on the shelves for you as well.  Check out the DE Racing web site for more info.

The Losi XXX-SCT may be new to the scene but ST Racing Concepts is already on their way to producing big time hop-ups for it.  They sent along a bunch of CAD renderings for us to gaze at while we wait for them to hit the market around the third week of this month.  If it’s a part on the XXX-SCT, STRC is making an aluminum or carbon fiber piece to replace it.  You can expect hub carriers front and rear, steering knuckles, a steering bellcrank, bulkheads, a few carbon fiber braces and straps. plus a ton more.  Probably the trickest looking piece that they are preparing is the threaded aluminum shock bodies pictured at right.

The guys didn’t offer up any details on pricing at this point, but it’s probably safe to assume that they’ll fall in line with the aluminum hop-ups that STRC offers for the other short course trucks out there.  When we get more info it’ll be passed on to you.  Check out some of the renderings in the gallery below then hit up the ST Racing Concepts web site just for fun.
