THE Cub Report – Country Road, Take Me Home…

It’s been one heck of a year so far hasn’t it? Personally, and professionally, 2018 will go down as the wildest year that I’ve ever seen, and I think a lot of people in our industry can say the same thing. Yet, here we are, and here is this week’s Cub Report.

Well how about that, the Denver show is blowing up! That’s right, after getting Traxxas and HRP/Savox/Cross/G-Made/etc on board, the crew over at the Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo have announced that Horizon Hobby/Losi/ECX/ARRMA/Axial/Vaterra/etc as well as Redcat Racing are also going to attend. Horizon and Redcat are two of the biggest names in our hobby, I can’t wait to see what they will be showing off at the expo this fall.

Consumer turnouts have been strong for many, many years at our rc trade shows, but manufacturer attendance has fallen off in recent years. Needless to say, with the list of companies that are now on the sheet for the Rocky Mountain show, consumers should really look forward to this one. It will also be good to have so many big names under one roof again for a hobby show, which should give the pros a chance to touch base in a friendly way to see how business is going, as well as to renew (or make) contacts. And as the big names sign up, so will the smaller companies, who always bring lots of innovative products.

Anywhos, Denver is just about a month away and it can’t get here fast enough for me. By the way, there are a whole lotta “work hard, play hard” people in rc (understatement!), and trade shows are a great place to unwind from the stress of the normal daily grind. Last year there were some pretty epic parties after the show, and the show was much smaller last year, so we can’t wait to get in some down time with our brothers in the rc industry out in the beautiful state of Colorado.

Before I bolt for the exit, be sure to check out our front page this Thursday. The crew at ARRMA are dropping their latest truck this Thursday, which has a bunch of people excited in the bash community (and the guys in the #arrmaarrmy bouncing off the rev limiter!).

OK, that’s it for this week. As always, support your local hobby shops and bash spots when ya can.
