THE Cub Report- Independence Is Futile

Well hello there, my name is Cubby and you’ve somehow managed to find THE Cub Report. What is THE Cub Report? An on-going saga of rc, I guess? LOL We do hope you are enjoying a 4 day weekend, if not, thank you for going the extra mile and working the holiday for your employer.

This week I am going to talk about a few upcoming events that are on the way. The first that I want to talk about is Monster Truck-A-Palooza which is being held in Banning, California. Yes, indeed, the BigSquidRC Bash Crew is loading up and headed to Southern California to join forces with Pro-Line to hold our first ever bash in California. We are still working final details, but for now, save the date of October 14th. It will be an all day bash, probably with a few different classes, held at Pro-Line’s ulta fine facilities. If you’ve never been to a bash before, or if you want to show the world just how big you can go, we look forward to meeting (and going epic with) all you hardcore Southern California bashers this fall.

Also coming up is the Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo. This event is also in October, the 28th & 29th, and is being held in Denver, Colorado. We are stoked to be heading out to provide media coverage and we know that several of the big players from the industry will be in attendance. As a consumer you’ll be able to come out and take in all the sights and sounds of the industry. You’ll be able to see the latest and greatest from various manufacturers, plus you’ll be able to talk to factory reps first hand. This is the first show of its kind in Denver so we are really looking forward to meeting a bunch of hobbyists from that area, as well as hanging with our friends in the industry. Speaking of which, if you are in the industry and have not gotten a booth yet, hit up the expo people for the scoop on pricing, set-up times, etc.

Lastly… we have another one of our Long Jump Competitions coming up. It is scheduled for late July and will be in Champaign, Illinois. Because of the risks involved, this is an invitation only event, so shoot us an email if you would like to be considered. Our buddy Paul Bludgen will be there with his Losi buggies attempting to break his previous record of 262 feet, plus we’ll be running multiple classes. Craig Nelson has been building ramps for us for years and will have an all new Mega-Ramp for use on that day, I personally can’t wait to see the beast he is constructing. Of course we’ll be posting coverage following the event, hopefully with some huge new numbers. Also, if you are a member of the industry from Champaign, hit us up if you wanna get in some ramp action too.

So there it is folks, that’s it for this week. As always, get out and support your local hobby shops and bash spots when ya can.
