traxxas nitro slash

There has been no official word yet from TRAXXAS, but rumors are flying about a new Traxxas Nitro Slash being announced soon! So we are going to keep this filled under the rumor mill category till we get the official word. It sounds like it’s based loosely off their new LCG style with a aluminum chassis, and the popular 3.3TRX Racing Engine. The bigger shock is the rumor of 2WD! For all those Traxxas Slayer fans looking for a change?

As soon as we get more details we will post them up, so stay tuned!

COMMENTS ON! Lets hear what you think about this one!

Traxxas is in the news all the time HERE on BigSquidRC, check it out.

Let the nitro the electric conversions begin!

  2. Slider7285 broke a vow of silence to say:

With 2wd nitro gearing up, maybe the 4wd class will be quick to follow. Love my Slayer Pro, butt not sure if I like the lcg chassis for nitro. I think they should consider doing it with a 2wd version of the Slayer chassis, IMO. Thanks Big Squid for keeping us up to date!

  3. Borisdamole attempted to articulate the following, but failed:

wow… Did I go back in time to 2006?

  4. Chuck Norris's Beard opened their gaping maw and spake:

Looks awesome. I’d like to jump one into the face of all of you guys hating on Traxxas all the time. I’m sure you’d whine about that too though.

  5. Jeffro said:

I love Traxxas and I own many of their trucks. All electric. But I am wondering when they are going to have an announcement that I really care about. I thought they would have jumped on the 1/5 scale train by now. I would be so stoked about a 1/5 scale tricked out E-Revo with the giant Castle 1/5 ESC and motor. But maybe I am in the minority.

  6. Gabe Hunt opened their gaping maw and spake:

i say heck yes! if this is true, ill consider my first nitro! been wanting one since the AE one came out

That is too much motor for a 2wd. Why would you put an engine made to power 8th sclae monster trucks into a 2wd? I feel a 2.5 or 1.5 would have been more appropriate. But hey it’s nitro so it will be terrible anyway.

    • Anon said this nonsense:

Bro, you are mistaken. Traxxas puts in PUNY engines in 1/8 size monster trucks and calls them 1/10 because of their small powerplant. A 3.3 size engine is in fact, not that big for a 2wd. It is actually too small for a Revo. I have an OS .21tm in my revo and it rips. The industry standard for 1/8 monster trucks I believe is 4.6cc. For 1/8 buggies and truggies, people use 3.5cc. However, in 1/10, people will use .18 or 3.3cc. That is what I believe is the standard for 1/10.

      • xmas is coming proclaimed on this day:

Even i hate traxxas, i think a nitro slash would be great, because that would push every other companies to make their own truck(everyone but ae)and perhaps start a new segment that will bring nitro cars back. By the way, when ae made a 2wd nitro sc bigsquid said it was dumb and useless, but when traxxas think about making one, its really cool… Am i the only one that feel something weird is going on?

  9. Kurt broke a vow of silence to say:

When will the electric conversion be made available? I used to do nitro, but I’ve found watts and they are good. No pissing the neighbors off.
I think traxxas should look into Selph inflicted airboats at RCairboat world. expand a bit into the boating side if things. I think one of Chris’s hulls would do super with a water prop and electric…Something to think about.
