So maybe you’ve heard a little something by now that Traxxas has a new car out? LOL Yes, the most highly anticipated release of the year, the Traxxas XO-1, has officially been unleashed on the public. So what’s the buzz? First off I was a bit startled by the shear amount of rabid hate going around the net on the [...]
The Traxxas XO-1 has finally been announced! That’s XO as in XOhh. Pretty sure thats not the Traxxas X0-1 As in X Zero. Also it’s not XO1. Pretty sure they want that dash. It’s an on-road vehicle that Traxxas is claiming will do 100+ MPH with two 3S 5000 packs! It also has a App for the iPhone with telemetry [...]
Sitting on my desk today was a box from Pro-Line. I always like surprises! Especially the ones that Cubby has not already opened and is driving around in the parking lot, and all I see is the empty box. This one was untouched! So I open it up to find a new body! It’s a new Jeep Cherokee 1992 for [...]
Cheerio fine people of the rc world and welcome to my latest uber (read- far from greatest) edition of THE Cub Report. Traxxas rules the world, not that I had to tell you that, I only said it because it’s a nice intro. Anyways… Traxxas will finally reveal to the public at large their way-super-dope-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it brand spank’n new vehicle [...]
Traxxas has something new coming out on the 30th of November 2011! And that’s it really… We don’t know any more! There have been guesses that it could be a 1/5th scale or a 1/8th scale buggy, but nobody is 100% sure. At the rumor price close to $1000 it’s not going to be a 1/16th scale! Personally we are [...]
File this one firmly under the Rumor Mill. A friend of Big Squid RC, who happens to be in the know, just dropped by the IHobby booth and gave us this tidbit about the next Traxxas release. It could hit in the next few weeks, Traxxas is already taking dealer orders for it, and dealers are being told [...]
Not really. The only news out of the Traxxas booth at this year’s IHobby is some new paint jobs for the Summit. That’s all. Seriously. … … … Ok. While they aren’t showing it at IHobby, one of their guys told us they are definitely working on something new that should be out by the Christmas shopping season. It’s [...]
Pro-Line just sent us a sneak peek of some 3.8″ Trencher tires that fit wheels with a Traxxas style bead. These things are massive, and scream durability! They should keep your truck pretty stable too, with 1/4″ tall “H” shaped treads and thickened sidewalls. They will be available as the tires alone, or mounted on 17mm hex Desperado wheels. Keep an eye on the [...]
Traxxas 12800mah lipos Hi there just wondering if you have reviewed these yet and if you have, what would be a suggested ac dual charger to keep these bad boys fresh. Thank you Aleic G. Cubby– Nope, sorry Aleic, we’ve yet to test any of the new Traxxas packs, but I’m guessing some time in the very near future we’ll be getting some for review. [...]
Looks like Traxxas is getting around to updating all their vehicles to their Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz radio system. We will file this under rumor mill since it hasn’t been officially announced, but the scoop is the new Traxxas part number should be 7009, and will be listed as the Traxxas 1/16 Slash 4×4 VXL 2.4 RTR. As of this posting, [...]
We broke this thing a week ago… Now, Traxxas has made us look like Nostradamus by officially announcing the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Replica! Avaliable in 4 colors, completely ready-to-run, with the new all black chassis, the SVT Raptor can be yours around October 14th. Specs also say the truck sports new body mounts, a brushless-ready transmission [...]

For those that were watching the Traxxas TORC series on SPEED TV the other night, if you were watching closely you can see Wrench (Bill) and myself hanging out watching the pro TORC drivers race around on the rc track. It was 13 minutes of racing action.. apparently bring able to drive a full size TORC truck does not [...]
Last night a bunch of the Big Squid RC crew was out at the Traxxas TORC Series. As soon as we get the stuff processed we will post up a bunch of pics from the event, but I wanted to post up a reminder about it this morning.
