Whats up gang, Evol here with my latest musings on RC Drift on the Big Squid of RC. So I know a lot of you look at RC drift and go, “man it looks cool, but I don’t wanna drop the cash to get into it”, or maybe its “My wife will kill me if I buy ANOTHER RC car” I [...]
It is easy enough to find an rc hydroplane video on YouTube now days, however, what you don’t see is someone doing it with a 5th scaler. Thankfully our own Craig “The Uber Ramp Guy” Nelson decided it was high time that someone cranked up the power in a Losi 5IVE-T and went for it. Take a good look at [...]
Bashers love power, the more the better, and Castle Creations has long been a source of brushless systems for us bashers. A few months ago they unveiled their new X line up of ESCs which introduced more features and other upgrades. Myself along with the rest of the BigSquid Bash Crew has been beating on the Mamba Monster X to [...]
That’s right, we have a winner in the $1000 Pro-Line Racing Big Bash Video Contest! I cannot express how difficult it was to come up with the winner, and these top three. We had almost 60 submissions, and they were all great! We can’t thank everyone enough who entered their videos, and we plan on doing something special for all [...]
We all know that electronic stability control is changing the hobby, making nearly undrivable cars easy to wheel. For the last couple of months we’ve been testing the latest 2WD Slash VXL from Traxxas, a model that comes with TSM, otherwise known as Traxxas Stability Management. Is the latest version of the Slash a winner for the basher crowd? How [...]
Before we get started, you can click here for Part One if you missed it. Building the trucks? Easy. Building the mud pit? PITA. This is the numero uno thing I’ve learned about racing r/c mudders. And of course the day we picked to build the track and run these vehicles just so happened to be 95 degrees with high humidity [...]
Are you one of those people who goes out and bashes after school, after work, on the weekends, records some sweet video and posts it to YouTube? Maybe you do all the bashing, but just not the filming? Would $1000 Cash be enough for you to press record? Here is the deal, with the help of Pro-Line Racing we are [...]
In the go big or go home category, the Losi Mini WRC 1/5th Scale RTR from Horizon Hobby certainly goes big! When we first heard that Losi was doing another 1/5th scale vehicle, we were glad to see they were going to do something a little different. The Losi 5IVE-T set the bar pretty high. While the rally car scene [...]
I’ve always been one to champion the Axial SCX10 for its versatility. The truck can be counted on to do a bunch of stuff with minimal work. For a personal example of this, I recently wrote a couple articles showcasing how easy it is to turn it into a pulling truck. With that in mind, a product recently hit the marketplace that [...]
Let’s face it, monster trucks and 8th scale truggies rule most bash areas. Their sheer size and power allow them to run amok over lesser bash-mobiles. One of the latest truggies to hit the market comes from Team Durango with their DEX8T Kit. Is it only suited for a race track? Does it out handle its competition? Can it go [...]
Were you at Axialfest 2015? Did you see Adam and Allyson while you were there? Did they take a picture of your ride? This post is going to have a TON of pics, you have been warned! Coming from two people that have never been to such an event, we didn’t know what to expect going into Cisco Grove. After a [...]
The Yeah Racing Shock Gear aluminum dampers are a low cost suspension tuning set for your 1/10th scale drifter or touring car. Low cost doesn’t mean low quality however. Just looking at the packaging you can tell that they mean business. This sub 30 dollar set of shocks includes four anodized threaded aluminum dampers, five sets of springs in different [...]
When you first open the box you are just astonished at the sheer magnitude of all the cool looking pieces and dozens of screw bags and then it hits you… Where am I gonna put all this stuff during the build? What I opted to do was use my main workspace as the build area and then use my portable [...]
It doesn’t seem like it has been 4 years since the Wraith was released, but here we are in 2015 with the latest 4WD solid axle basher/scaler that has taken the RC world by storm. The Wraith Spawn represents the newest generation of the truck featuring all the latest refinements and tweaks Axial has implemented over the years. This volume [...]
Thunder Tiger has become a well known name in the bashing world. Their incredible MT4 G3 series bash-mobiles caught not only our attention, but also bashers from coast to coast. For 2015 Thunder Tiger announced several new models. We tested their Kaiser eMTA a few weeks ago and recently we received the new Bushmaster. Like the Kaiser, the Bushmaster is [...]
