Whats up drifters? Evol here with the latest Drift Itch. Lots of news in RC Drift land this week so lets jump right into it. Looks like Asiatees was the first to lay hands on the new Sakura D4 outside of 3racings circle. I’ve been wanting a good up close look at this chassis and while their description of the car [...]
The 1/18th scale Dromida off-road vehicles have been a hit since they started shipping to hobby shops, and why not, they are both fun and affordable. To up the fun factor even more, Dromida is now shipping a new version of their entire line-up featuring Brushless Power Systems. As we cracked open our test units we broke out the camera and [...]

This week we will round up the best RTR drift missiles in the entry level category. Now I know the appeal of buying a ready to run. For those entering the hobby for the first [...]
Since we first heard about it’s upcoming release, we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Thunder Tiger Kaiser Monster Truck. When we got the call asking if we’d like the FIRST ONE before anyone else, I could only hope they didn’t hear the extra excitement in my voice. This truck is truly a beast. We like the body style, [...]

Gasoline powered rc vehicles were supposed to be the next big thing. The HPI Octane seemingly came and went, just as the Losi Monster XXL did. Losi recently released both a buggy and truggy with their Dynamite Gasoline Powered Engine, we’ve been putting the 8IGHT-T truggy through its paces to see how it stacks up. Have they fixed the engine [...]
Here at BigSquidRC we get asked lots of questions, but lately we have been hearing the questions, “Does stability control really work?” and “How do you even install it?” all the time. With so much interest being shown, we figured it was time to bust out a post on how to install an electronic stability control system. While there are now [...]
We have actually had a few requests for us to review the latest Losi TEN-SCTE 4WD recently, so it seems like the unboxing should be good timing. This is the new Losi TEN-SCTE Troy Lee Designs RTR 4WD truck. Inside the box was the truck, a DX2E Transmitter with batteries, and a few miscellaneous tools. Personally, I was actually digging [...]
What’s up drifters? Evol here with some more cool kit for your RC drift car. This week I got the new Yeah Racing GC301 drift gyro to help you get your slide on. It’s a funny thing about gyros, some consider them cheating, but on RWD they are considered almost necessity. On the 4WD side of things I used [...]
Among the bashing community short course trucks are a favorite, especially 4 wheel drives. They have a great combination of scale looks, toughness, and drivability that are great for bashyard bashing. We’ve had the opportunity to thrash the latest SCT from ARRMA, the 4wd Senton BLX, for several weeks now. Did it live up to the ARRMA name? How does [...]
The ARRMA Kraton has really taken off with the bashing crowd. It has been flying off of hobby shop shelves and was recently voted by you, our BigSquidRC readers, as our March Bashness Champion. Because of its popularity, a few months ago we did a How To Upgrade the electronics in the Kraton and recently we decided to give our [...]
Since their introduction, short course trucks have become a mainstay among the bashing community. Their large size, scale looks, and big bumpers made them a hit at bash spots around the world. One of the biggest and baddest short course trucks to hit the market comes from ARRMA. The Senton BLX is based on an 8th scale chassis and comes [...]
Over in the U.K., HPI Racing has an affordable line of bashers called Maverick. The latest two vehicles to be released under the Maverick line is the Tiberwolf SCT and the Desertwolf 8th Scale Buggy. Both vehicles share the same base platform and come RTR with brushless power and 4wd. 4000kV brushless motors supply the power along with a 3S capable [...]
Yesterday we broke the news about the Traxxas Craniac and Traxxas Skully monster trucks, and promised some more details. Here is a high-res shot of the new trucks. They are based on the 2WD Stampede truck with some pretty intricate new body looks. Not sure if these are for everyone, but there should be more than a few people into [...]
Hot and new for 2015 is a whole new line-up of 8th scalers from Team Durango. Being the super lucky media types that we are, we managed to get our hands on one of the first DEX8 Buggy Kits to hit American shores and have been giving it the full BSRC Bash Crew treatment for several weeks now. The last [...]
