When we first saw the new Wasteland series vehicles from Dromida we couldn’t wait to get our hands on them. They had a cool “Mad Max” look, and more importantly, they had foam rocket launchers on top. During our review we’ve spent a lot of time driving, bashing, and shooting the Wasteland vehicles, here is the scoop on what we [...]
As quadcopters slowly takeover the world, the next big thing is flying FPV. Keep reading as we go in depth for [...]

Hi there this is Hawaiian Chris, one of the members of the BigSquidRC Bash Crew. I recently got a chance to review the Optical Large Scale Kill Switch from Dynamite RC. The Dynamite Optical Kill Switch (part #DYNE1240) was made pretty compact and with good quality JST plugs. The opto-coupling was housed in a sturdy plastic cover and proved to be [...]
Just like the Staind song “It’s Been A While”, well, it has been a while since HPI Racing introduced an all new off-road platform. Earlier this year HPI debuted their Jumpshot platform to the world at the Nuremburg Toy Fair, since then we’ve been anxiously waiting for one to show up on our doorstep. That day finally came a few [...]
Pro Boat made waves a couple of months ago by announcing the Stealthwake 23. It had sharp looks, a deep-v design, and most importantly, a very reasonable price point. When we first saw the Stealthwake, it actually reminded us of another Horizon product, the ECX Ruckus. Both are affordably priced and aimed right at the weekend basher crowd. What do [...]
Whats up drifters! Evol here again with another edition of Drift Itch and I’m pretty stoked to finally be writing about this car i’ve been obsessing over for the last few months. The Sakura D4 is finally in hand and it’s one of the most exciting platforms to come along in a while. While it borrows some key design elements [...]
If you are looking for true high speed performance right out of the box, the 36″ Deep-V class is a great place to find it. A few months ago Horizon Hobby announced their entry into the class, the Voracity-E RTR, and since then we’ve had plenty of time to put it through the wringer. Is the Voracity-E fast? Can it [...]
Shipping now is the first motorcycle to hit the ECX RC line-up, the 1/14th scale Outburst. The Outburst is on the most affordable side of the rc spectrum at just a $39 street price, so you have to wonder a few things. How easy it is to drive? Does it break easily? Is it fast? We’ve been driving the tires [...]
What is a Thunder Tiget Jackal? It is a RTR tenth scale desert buggy with independent suspension up front and a solid axle with locked diff in the rear. Sound familiar? It should, that is the formula that the Axial Yeti and Vaterra Twin Hammers have used to sell a ton of vehicles. How does the Jackal stack up to [...]
One of the biggest toy releases of 2015 involved the new Star Wars Force Awakens line up that hit shelves on ‘Force Friday’ September 4th. Among the new toys was the BB-8 Droid by Sphero. Bashers love power, the more the better, and Castle Creations has long been a source of brushless systems for us bashers. A few months ago they unveiled their new X line up of ESCs which introduced more features and other upgrades. Myself along with the rest of the BigSquid Bash Crew has been beating on the Mamba Monster X to [...]
When it comes to scale accessories, RC4WD is arguably the top name in the business. A few weeks ago we got our hands on their new 1/8 Warn Zeon 10 Winch and put it to work in a freshly built Axial SCX10 Dingo. For the longest time a winch has been more of a decorative piece of scale swag than something that was [...]
