Everybody’s Scalin’ – Black Friday Edition

Greetings gang, I hope you had a most excellent Thanksgiving!

Black Friday is upon us and there are great to deals to be had no matter what you are in to, whether it’s home stereo or electric guitars.

The r/c scaling space is no different. In years past I’ve listed several small trinkets that I thought would make for good stocking stuffers for either you or the crawling nut in your life. This year though, I want to discuss a few big ticket items.

The first thing isn’t even an r/c. If you’ve been wanting a PS4 or Xbox One, Gamestop has a killer deal where you can get one for either $189 or $199, and that includes a 50 dollar gift card. What can you use that gift card on? Spintires: Mudrunner! I talked about this game two weeks ago, and since then I’ve fallen completely in love. It provides an amazing scaling/crawling experience from the comfort of your home!

The second thing to talk about is Tower Hobbies smokin’ deal on an Axial Deadbolt SCX10 for $229, and that is WITH shipping. Yeah, the Deadbolt may not be the newer SCX10.2 platform, but the older model is still very stout out of the box and there are about a million things you can customize it with.

The final deal going on is also the one I recommend the most, and it’s also with Tower Hobbies. The Redcat Everest Gen7 Sport is $179 after using a $20 off coupon (the code is 011V3).

This is probably the best deal you’re going to find in 1/10 scale rock crawling. For under $200 you are getting a super capable truck with everything you need in the box. We are huge fans of this rig, and even though we reviewed the slightly more expensive and equipped Pro model, this is still the same vehicle minus a few differences, most of them cosmetic.

The truck has good tires, an awesome chassis layout, ample power for an RTR system and a bargain basement price. Heck, many OG SCX10 upgrade parts actually fit it as well! You can read our review for more on the Everest Gen7 Pro, but yeah, the Sport model at $179 is an easy recommendation.

If you are out and about today please be safe and try and keep your cool! I’ll see ya next week. Good luck, folks.
