EVERYBODY’S SCALIN’ – RC4WD 1987 McFlyota PART 2

What is up everybody it has been a crazy week at the Big Squid RC office, hope you got to check out our first live stream last night. If you did not get to check it out, click the link. Reminder, we will also be going live next Thursday as well!

The RC4WD Toyota Extra Cab hard body complete set is out officially out, and you can head over to the RC4WD web site and snatch one up. While our inhouse fabricator is still gathering parts and finishing up the last few coats of paint, the scale crew in the Big Squid RC scale shop has begun to receive the interior parts. when I painted the RC4WD Toyota 4Runners dash I used Plasti Dip hoping to make it looked real and not a shinny piece of plastic. It turned out good not only did it look better, but it has a real feel texture of a 1.1 dash. So, this time around I picked up more Plasti Dip but in Gray for the McFlyota. Quick tip when using Plasti Dip, if you taped something off like a vent or door handles, score around the tape before you peal it off, so the Plasti Dip will not come off with your tape.

As of now I am still on the hunt for the best material for the seats. The though of painting them has crossed my mind but I do not want to cheat the build. Laying the carpet for the McFlyota was harder than normal this time due to my left arm not being 100% yet lol. it was not the pain so much but the fact that my left hand was shacking a hobby knife around all willy nilly like. Still got some cleaning up to do but the RC4WD 1987 Toyota XtraCab is coming along and we are defiantly looking forward to finishing this rig up so we can hit the trails!

Have a great weekend and stay tuned for the McFlyota part 3 update!!!
