For Bashers, By Bashers!

EVERYBODY’S SCALIN’ – READY FOR THE PARTY!

Project Gettin’ Dressed for AxialFest was an interesting one. The one part I thought we would have issues with on the Axial SCX10iii was a great fit with no hassles at all. I am talking about the RC4WD Roof rack, which is made for the first Gen SCX10 Jeep. If you are thinking about picking up the Metal Roof Rack from RC4WD I would do it as soon as you can, the Roof Rack is Discontinued so once they are gone, they are gone! The Rack does add some weight to the rig however the added weight gives the rig a nice scale body roll when going over obstacles. As for the light buckets, they are empty now but will be updated soon.

Now for the not expected moment of the Dress up. When I picked the wheels for the SCX10iii I did not take in account for the portals. So, I am cruising along jamming some KORN, knocking out mounting the RC4WD Falken Wildpeaks 1.9s on the Mickey Thompson MT wheels at a record pace for me. Then came the time to mount them onto the rig, that was followed a “OH Darn” and a quick call to our friend Greg Holman. Told Greg what the problem was and by the time I got to his house he had the solution waiting for us. A 3D printed set of longer wheel Hex’s to help off set the wheel from the portals and keep it form rubbing. After overcoming that unforeseen snag with the wheels, the SCX10iii looks fantastic. The WildPeak’s are not only scaled out but perform extremely well on the trail.

Finishing this little Dress up of the Axial SCX10iii for Axialfest Bandlands has all of us eager to get out to the event and have some much-needed fun! We will have some stickers and other goodies on site for anyone who comes up to the booth. And if you make a Back to The Future reference you can have a picture wearing the Squid hat, I will clean it do not worry. We hope to see you all there and until then have a great weekend and Keep Scalin’!
