Let’s Go Micro! Redcat Unveils the Ascent-32 Crawler
After teasing this model a few weeks ago on a livestream, Redcat has officially released its smallest R/C crawler yet, the Ascent-32. Based on a scaled-down version of the Ascent-18, this micro-sized, radio-controlled rig should be an excellent entry-level machine for younger hobbyists, as well as an option for those who want something smaller to wheel indoors.
Very similar in style and design to the original Ascent-18 crawler, the Ascent-32 features an aluminum flat-rail chassis, four-link suspension, aluminum-capped shocks, and a compact electronics layout that keeps this rig performance-focused despite its small size.
If you’re familiar with the Ascent-18 and Ascent-18 Scout II, then the body mounting system on the Ascent-32 should be very familiar. With its flip-forward design, you can easily get to the internals of this rig for maintenance and upgrades.
Other performance highlights include a water-resistant servo, a 300mAh 1S LiPo battery, and a 130-size brushed motor.
Four body color options are available for the Ascent-32: red, pink, silver, and blue. With this many colors, you can easily add one or more to your collection while still keeping them easy to tell apart in a pack.
