Monster Truck Madness – Some Killer Events You Should Check Out!

Greetings all, happy Tuesday to all you cats out there in Internet land. This week I wanted to shout out three upcoming solid axle r/c monster truck events that you should absolutely try and attend if you can.

Up first is the Solid Showdown in Chesterfield, Virginia. The 2019 5 year anniversary event is scheduled for April 26th thru April 28th at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds . They have moved to a much larger venue than previous years which allows for indoor and outdoor racing, a practice area, and activities for spectators. The folks up in VA put on a great show, and you should check it out. They even race monster tanks!

Up next on the docket is the BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House on Saturday, June 1st. This is the annual event that my club puts on at the Bigfoot shop in Pacific, MO. This day is an absolute blast as while many of us come to race the r/c’s, there is a full show that goes on around it. Various car crushes with the real Bigfoot trucks, a monster ride truck, various autograph sessions AND an old school leafer car crush. It keeps getting bigger each year, and we’d love to see you down there! As the event draws near I’ll post more detailed info here on MTM. In the meantime, you can follow my club Trigger King R/C right here for the latest news.

Right on the heels of that is Horizon RC Fest 2019. This massive celebration of r/c takes place close to Horizon HQ in the town of Monticello, IL. This event is always a great place to meet the who’s who and see the what’s what of the industry, but for the first time ever in 2019 they are holding a solid axle monster truck race! Various classes, full timing system; the whole she-bang!

If you’ve never attended one of these events, you should know they are an absolute blast. Yes, the racing can be intense but in most cases these large gatherings are more of a place to celebrate monster trucks with a bunch of like minded enthusiasts. You will not find a segment of the hobby that’s more newbie friendly than solid axle monster trucks. Don’t be intimidated- come on out!
