Set-up Notes: The crew at Vast RCX sent us a bunch of different upgrade parts for our Micro-B buggy. From nose to tail of the Micro-B, Vast RCX has an upgrade part available. A-arms, shock towers, battery strap, bulkheads, bumpers, chassis rails, or even wings, the Vast RCX crew has ya covered pretty much no matter what kind of upgrade you are looking for.
For our testing, we stripped our bone stock Micro-B down, then started bolting on the upgrades. All the Vast RCX parts are made from plastic and seem to be roughly the same stiffness as the stock parts. They aren’t so stiff as to snap, nor are they so soft that they bend too much.
Ease Of Install: Working on micro scalers isn’t the easiest thing in world, at least if you are older and your vision isn’t what it once used to be. However, with the Vast RCX parts, when a bit of modding needed to be done, they were easy to mod with a hobby knife or drill bit. All the Vast RCX parts are made from plastic, thus making them easy to mod if needed for your install.
Performance: We loved the performance of all the Vast RCX upgrades. Where needed, Vast RCX added extra holes for adjustability, and in areas that needed beefed up, those areas got more plastic. With the Vast RCX parts, we were easily able to dial in our Micro-B to various track conditions. The shock towers come with extra mounting holes, as do their a-arms. We loved the plastic rear wing that took abuse without issue, and even their battery strap comes with thumb screws, thus making it much easier to remove the battery. As a whole, the Vast RCX parts were able to take our Micro-B to a much more raceable level. On the durability side, we had no issues at all, as we were able to slam off pipes and walls with no ill effects or broken parts.
Final Verdict: Affordably priced, good looking, and featuring designs that really improved our Micro-B, we really dig what Vast RCX is doing with their upgrade parts. If you are looking for some trick upgrades for your Micro-B, Micro-T, or other small scaler, you definitely have to give Vast RCX a try!
