==========
Rally Shootout Thunder Tiger G3 Mini Countryman
4th Place – Thunder Tiger ER-4 G3 Mini Countryman – So the Thunder Tiger came in last, does that mean it’s a bad car? In this shootout all four cars were very competitive, there simply was not one bad apple in this bunch. The Thunder Tiger won two categories, durability and ease of use, and came in second in two categories, pavement driving and parts availability. Overall, the Thunder Tiger is a beast with big power and has proven it is tough is nails.

Rally Shootout Kyosho Demon
3rd Place – Kyosho DRX VE Demon – The Kyosho tied for second in points but was given third based on our tie-breaker system. (Which vehicle won the most categories, then who won 2nd place.. etc) Was it a bad car? Not at all, it was the best one of the group if most of your driving is done on dirt, and it came within one point of winning the shootout. The stock power system was a bit on the soft side, but the Demon looked good, was easy to drive, and jumped well.

Rally Shootout Traxxas Rally
2nd Place – Traxxas 1/10 Rally – The Traxxas Rally is based on the Traxxas LCG platform, making it an overall great performer. On both the street and in the dirt the Traxxas Rally was a blast to drive. The stock brushless system had plenty of power on tap and its tires were among the best. The Traxxas Rally is a fine bash machine and nearly won the shootout.

Rally Shootout HPI Ken Block WR8 Flux
1st Place – HPI Ken Block WR8 Flux – Finally, we have our winner, the HPI Ken Block WR8 Flux. The HPI won 4 categories, more than any other brand, and was generally our favorite among the group. Why? Because of its great blend of nuclear power and great looks. The HPI turned heads everywhere we went, while its insane power made it a rush to drive. Congrats to HPI and their entire crew, the Ken Block WR8 is a great car and a worthy champion.

There you have it folks, the HPI Ken Block is our Rally Shootout Champion. Like we mentioned in the beginning, just because we have a winner on paper, based on our numbers and testing, it may not be the winner for you. Each one of us had a different vehicle that we would buy. A couple of us would gladly pay the money for the HPI, while two of us would put their money on the Thunder Tiger in a heart beat. A BSRC team member went out and bought the Kyosho for personal use, and I’m sure we will own multiple Traxxas Rally vehicles around here by the time you read this.

Special thanks to Slot & Wing Hobbies in Champaign IL for letting our Bash Crew barge in and take over their facility for a day while we wrapped up our testing. If you are ever in Central Illinois, Slot & Wing is a must to drop in and take a look around.
