RC Stuff In Local Toy Catalog

So I’m flipping through this toy catalog I got in the mail recently. It’s sort of a ‘local’ place about 20 minutes from my house. The name of the place is Oakridge Hobbies and Toys. They have moved several times over the years, but always seemed more like a FAO Schwarz wanna be. You would have no problem finding $500 stuffed animals in this place, expensive Legos and high priced wooden blocks. The back of the store carries some RC, trains, and even a decent size slot car track. The problem is.. like a FAO, I can usually find it MUCH cheaper anywhere else. The other issue is, the brands they carry (Traxxas or Traxxas) does not leave much for options, and parts support is limited to maybe a glow plug, a NiMH battery, and if your lucky a A-Arm.. for a Rustler… So nobody goes there for parts.
As I got to the end of the catalog, I was extremely surprised by the back. FlyZone? Aquacraft?? Even a ECX Smash and Blade Quad Copter.. the crazy part, all at decent prices! I believe these were ‘sale’ prices, but still, they were comparable to stuff online. Topping it off, a 25% coupon off a ‘non discounted item’. Not sure if all these are considered discounted or not.. but either way.. the point I’m trying to make is, these guys are sending out catalogs/flyers/advertisements to probably a lot of people, and dedicating their back page to RC! Thanks for spreading the word! Hopefully some kids get this and go ‘I WANT THAT!!’

I may have to stop in again sometime and see what other surprises they hold!
