Redcat Ascent-18 Apex Brushless R/C Crawler
The folks at Redcat keep rolling out surprise releases, with their latest being the souped-up Ascent-18 Apex Brushless Rock Crawler. The newest addition to their Ascent-18 lineup, the Apex takes the already impressive performance of this platform to the next level with a lightweight and compact chassis design, plus several upgrades included right out of the box.
Designed for pure performance, the Ascent-18 Apex Brushless Crawler features carbon fiber chassis rails with multiple shock mounting locations and several cross brace bars to maintain rigidity in all the right spots.
While this isn’t the first brushless 1/18-scaler from Redcat, it does use a different powerplant from the other two Ascent-18 Brushless models. A HobbyWing Mini 24 Brushless ESC and Motor (3500kv) are at the heart of this rig.
The Ascent-18 Apex is also equipped with true, 1.3" beadlock wheels that are wrapped with soft tires with aggressive treads. Other highlights include a lightweight, two-piece polycarbonate body, a 3S LiPo battery, and a pre-installed brass front diff cover and outer portal boxes.
