Redcat Vertex-6 1/6 Rock Crawler
Well, I did not see this coming. Redcat has announced the release of its Vertex-6, a large-scale, brushless-powered rock crawler. This release appears to be aimed squarely at performance crawling enthusiasts, but the twist of the 1/6-scale size is very intriguing.
With its low center of gravity and flat rail chassis, the Vertex-6 offers its drivers plenty of opportunities to tune for optimal performance. The battery can be mounted in three different locations, and several upper shock mount locations allow you to set this rig up to suit your personal driving style and your crawling conditions.
Other performance highlights of this large-scale crawler include selectable underdrive, a durable center skid plate, double CV joints on the front axle, and heavy-duty axle and driveshaft components.
The Vertex-6 is powered by a HobbyWing 2-in-1, 1800kv brushless motor, and its massive, 7" soft compound tires should let it roll over just about anything that gets in its way.
