ECX made some big news when they announced their AMP line-up of vehicles. Why is that? Because the AMP line brings hobby grade 10th scale to an extremely low price point. How low? $129, which should fit into just about anyone’s budget. While we finish our full review of the AMP Desert Buggy, please take a look at the unboxing pictures [...]
We recently got our hands on a UDI Lark Quadcopter with FVP from HRP – Hobby Recreation Products and are looking forward to putting it to the test. Initial reactions to taking it out of the box, it’s a very interesting setup as it’s very light for it’s large sizet. Not so sure we are going to dig the USB charging [...]
It seemed appropriate to end #ForceFriday by saving the best for last. The Star Wars BB-8 Droid by Sphero was blowing up the internet late Thursday as the press embargo was lifted finally allowing us to show off all the cool new Star Wars toys. This little droid is pretty darn awesome. While we ‘know’ how the head stays on, [...]
With a couple of more months left in the boating season we are starting in on our review of the Pro Boat Stealthwake 23. The Stealthwake comes in at an affordable $179, putting it easily in the budget for the average hobbyist. It is powered by a water cooled 550 brushed motor and comes with a 2.4GHz pistol style radio. Take [...]
What does it look like when opening the box on the new Pro Boat Voracity-E 36? Well, to show everyone out in rc land what comes in the box we took a bunch of pictures while unboxing our test unit. The Voracity-E is certainly a beast, it is physically quite a large boat and comes with a brutish 6S LiPo [...]
We got our hands on an HPI Racing Crawler King 1973 Ford Bronco Edition! Personally we were huge fans of the Wheelie King back in the day because it was just a fun little basher. Will the Crawler King be a fun crawler? While we aren’t expecting to win any comps, we are hoping it can take a decent bashing [...]
New and improved from Castle Creations is the Mamba Monster X electronic speed controller. We recently received one to bash/test, so we got out the camera to take pictures while we unboxed it. As you can see by the pictures, the Mamba X is different than previous 1/8th models from Castle. A big red “X” on top shows that it [...]
After receiving the latest version of the ARRMA Fury BLX to hit the states we had crack the box open as soon as possible. Yes, of course we grabbed a camera before doing so, but all of us were pretty stoked to see the new 60 mph+ version of the Fury. Take a peek below to see exactly what it looks [...]
We’ve been working on our review of the ECX 4WD Brushless Circuit Stadium Truck with AVC for several weeks now. Before the full review goes live we wanted to post some unboxing pictures so you can see exactly what it looks like when the box is cracked open. As you can see by the pictures, everything is included with the Circuit. [...]
Thunder Tiger has become a well known name in the bashing world. Their incredible MT4 G3 series bash-mobiles caught not only our attention, but also bashers from coast to coast. For 2015 Thunder Tiger announced several new models. We tested their Kaiser eMTA a few weeks ago and recently we received the new Bushmaster. Like the Kaiser, the Bushmaster is [...]
While the Losi Mini 8IGHT has been around for years, there is a new version that is hitting the market that comes with AVC Stability Control. After receiving our test unit, we took a bunch of pictures while cracking the box open to let you see what it looks like. We have some special plans for our AVC Mini 8IGHT, something [...]
Want to do some serious bashing? If so, it is hard to beat a 4wd monster truck. The folks over at ECX have a Brushless and AVC equipped version of their Torment 4WD that is aimed right at a typical basher. With its big tires and serious power under the hood, it should be a prime bashing vehicle. Below you’ll find [...]
The 1/18th scale Dromida off-road vehicles have been a hit since they started shipping to hobby shops, and why not, they are both fun and affordable. To up the fun factor even more, Dromida is now shipping a new version of their entire line-up featuring Brushless Power Systems. As we cracked open our test units we broke out the camera and [...]
E-Flite must know I am not the world’s best airplane pilot (I mean, I’m a basher, so nothing is beyond lawn dart status), so they send me a UMX Whipit DLG (Discus Launch Glider). This glider can be thrown like a frisbee or paper airplane, and only has a rudder and elevator, so you rely on wind and thermal pockets to keep the [...]
I always love seeing packages on my desk, and this one came from the folks over at Ares RC, the SpectreX Quadcopter and FPV Upgrade kit. This little orange bugger is the next review I’m working on, and before I started chasing Brian and Cubby around the office, I took a few unboxing photos. See them below and keep your eye out for the [...]
