The Backyard – All Aboard for the 2025 BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House!
Happy Friday all and welcome to The Backyard!
This weekend I’m dusting off my solid axle monster trucks and helping the Trigger King R/C guys put on a race at the annual BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House!
The BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House, taking place at the team’s shop in Pacific, MO, is set to be an exciting event celebrating 50 years of the iconic monster truck. Taking place on June 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the open house will feature a variety of activities and exhibits for fans of all ages. Attendees can expect to see the BIGFOOT trucks perform, get up close and take photos with the machines, meet the people on the team, get a ride in a monster truck, take in various on-site r/c demonstrations from Traxxas, JConcepts, and Mark Twain Hobby Center, or watch/participate in the r/c race being put on by Trigger King R/C.
In talking about the r/c monster truck race specifically, here are the details.
The BIGFOOT 4X4, INC. Open House is Saturday. The event is rain or shine, but the R/C racing may be limited if we get rain. If we get delayed by rain, we will not run qualifying and will set up the racing brackets randomly. If we get heavy rain for an extended time, we may just open the track up to those who have waterproof trucks and run a bracket if time/weather allows. These decisions will be made on-site that day. Canopies are OK to put up, but how many may be limited due to space.
►7:00-7:30 – You will be allowed to drop your gear by the track. It is the new lot on the west side of Bigfoot 4×4. See the map here. PLEASE KEEP YOUR GEAR TO A MINIMUM TO SAVE ON SPACE. Drop your gear off and then take your vehicle out to the appropriate parking areas (marked on the map in green; if this area fills up, you may have to go to Pacific High School to park and take the shuttle back). Red areas on the map are off limits to park. If you arrive after 7:30, you will be on your own getting your gear to the R/C area.
►8:00-8:30 – R/C registration. $10 per racing truck entry (allowed 1 entry per class, show-N-Shine and Freestyle are free). 1 bracket per racing class.
►8:30-9:00 – Show-N-Shine: limited to 2 entries and is open to any identity.
►9:00 – Outlaw Retro Clod qualifying begins.
We will break for the Bigfoot exhibitions and as time allows. We are allowing free track time during breaks, but only if you are respectful to the track area. Also, safety is a top priority. If anyone drives a truck into the crowd at any point, that truck will be DQ-ed from the days event. ALWAYS keep your R/C truck within the R/C area at ALL TIMES.
