THE Cub Report – Life In The RC Lane

Hola and hello! I am Cubby and every Monday morning I like to bust out a small column going over some of the bigger happenings going on in our hobby. Last week was yet another fun week in rc, shall we just jump right on in???

First up this week is a note about Axialfest 2019. The Horizon Hobby crew has been working hard on this year’s Axialfest and it kicks off this Wednesday out at the Donner Ski Ranch in Norden, California. This Axial customer appreciation event has easily been one of the, if not the single biggest, crawling events held on planet Earth. Over the years, Axialfest has done so many things to help promote the scale side of the hobby, and for this year’s event, I would not expect any different. With loads of events, giveaways, and some awesome rock crawling areas, all you Axial faithful should be in for something really special for the 2019 event.

On a different note…

Our “scale guy” Jeremy is welcoming home a brand new baby who was born over the weekend. Thankfully, baby Penelope was born healthy and it has been said that she is already asking for a Spektrum DX5 Rugged for her first birthday. Congrats Jeremy, you didn’t have any free time to start with, now you have even less, but that is one cute kid ya got there. 🙂

For product news from last week, the crew over at RC4WD dropped a bunch of cool new gear last week. We posted about their fully licensed ARB roof tent last week, but they have tons of other new products as well. Like most everything that RC4WD puts out, the ARB tent is incredible for scale looks. With real nylon for the tent and a robust steel frame, I just have to marvel at what those guys keep cooking up for the ever growing scale community. So ya, look for more RC4WD scale goodness on our front page later this week.

JConcepts? That’s right folks, we are super stoked that JConcepts is now an official sponsor of BigSquidRC! Jason and his crew have come such a long ways in the last half decade, especially for all you bashers out there. With a full line-up of race, bash, drag, and monster truck gear, JConcepts is going from a high-end specialty company, to one that caters to nearly everyone. Our crew got a chance to hang out with Jason at RC Fest a few weeks ago, and we were impressed to see just how driven that him and his crew was. Welcome aboard to the everyone at JC and we can’t wait to do some great things together in the future.

OK, so there ya have it ya bunch of lunatics. Until next week, try to support your local hobby shops and bash spots whenever ya can!
